- Evidence
- Brunodam is a multiple sockpuppeteer: Wikipedia:Suspected_sock_puppets/Brunodam and Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Brunodam
- This conversation including a confession: Talk:Italian_Mare_Nostrum#Merge.2C_again. The conversation, as you will have read by now, has led me to compile this report.
- Re:Cherso, it is known [1][2] that Bruno's IP at home is 4.231.20.... Here [3] he edits and signs as Cherso having forgotten to log in.
- Bruno and his multiple socks have created a series of articles on Corfiot Italians (by Cherso), Corsican Italians (Brunodam), Libyan Italians (BurtReed), Maltese Italians (Bruno), Nizzardo Italians (Bruno) and Tunisian Italians (Bruno).
- Re:Popovichi, he was edit warring [4][5][6][7] to reinstate [[8]], an image created by Bruno, until I sent this message [9] to his talk (Bruno lives in Broomfield, Colorado), at which point Bruno retired him, barring one edit this week.
- Re: the two IP addresses,
both in central Italy (I believe Bruno is there at present) there's the confession at Talk:Italian_Mare_Nostrum#Merge.2C_againand the edit histories of the two [10][11], both SPA's hell bent on preserving the integrity of Italian Mare Nostrum, an article created by Bruno [12].

I'm sorry, but I don't see my "confession" here: Talk:Italian_Mare_Nostrum#Merge.2C_again. I'm writing from Italy, and that's all. Best regards.--87.28.126.85 (talk) 18:44, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I forgot: "the two IP addresses, both in central Italy":
87.28.126.85 = from Italy
65.3.224.112 = from Atlanta, GA
:-)))
Best regards.--87.28.126.85 (talk) 18:56, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Popovichi = Bruno is a bit clearer if we also line up a couple of things from elsewhere. This is a bit of a paper trail but bear with me. First, Bruno has got on his talk page that his full name is Bruno D'Ambrosio [13]. One of his socks, User:Pannonicus created an article on Pompeo D'Ambrosio. Bruno's first contribution to that article (using his own account) was to add a family photo [14], I guess from his own album. Meanwhile, the exact same article was created on Italian wiki by someone called Jr. [15], who says on his user page that he is Pompeo Junior [16]. Unfortunately, Bruno's main account on itwiki got closed down for making legal threats [17], which is why he's socking as Jr. Have a look at the contributions of BDA on the Spanish wiki too [18], especially his creation of an article on Pompeo D'Ambrosio [19] and BDA at Commons [20], who says the photo of old Pompeo was self made. So Brunodam = Jr. = BDA. Meanwhile, this Jr at Itwiki has been editing all the same articles as our Bruno, including Lovro Monti, that in English was edited on the same day, 17 June as Popovichi [21], who added the same table to the article [22] that Jr. has used on Itwiki [23], an article that Jr. created that same day [24]. And I think one reason that Bruno hasn't been editing enwiki that much recently is that he's been spending more time at it and es, as can be seen.
Regarding this SSP, I was a bit confused about the confession, an error on my part I think, as it was related to this post [25]. Due to an ec, my post appeared above the IP's, making it appear that his/her post of 16.59 was a reply to mine of 17.00. This became clear later. However, looking at Special:Contributions/87.28.126.85 it is damn clear that it is somebody, not a random IP editor who hadn't been around before. Whether it was Bruno, well, that can't be proven. Bruno's a bit of a traveller, though, and regularly crops up with New Jersey and Atlanta IP addresses on some kind of (I guess work-related) cycle, but was definitely in Atlanta on 5 July using 72.153.151.45 [26][27] and 65.3.224.112 [28]. I must admit I don't think the IPs are that important though, and nor is there anything that can be done about them if it's Bruno or somebody else editing from his hotel or a bar. - Conclusions
- Cherso = 4.231.202.49 = Brunodam seems clear, and, in addition to the above evidence, CU has confirmed Popovichi = Brunodam. Both blocked.
I'm probably going to leave the IPs since if they were used by Bruno at any point while travelling then he'll have moved on by now, at least for a while. – Steel 00:37, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
