Contested prod. Non-notable person. Zero or almost zero GNews hits (most or all hits refer to different people). Claimed basis for notability includes writing for two major newspapers, participating in 3 debates against notable people, and a trivial mention in the NYT Blog. - Comment with additional data to my previous Delete: Not notable per Wikipedia:Notability and Wikipedia:Notability (people). I'll comment on some of the current article contents in terms of WP:N.
- a contributor to The Guardian - It looks like this is part of a program called Comment is Free which is a blog that anyone can participate in provided they register with the web site and agree to terms and conditions.[1]. Being a contributor is not notable. Each of his recent posts has attracted between 31 to 90 feedback comments[2] indicating some interest in what Rupert Myers writes about. A quick skim of the feedback comments shows they are about the blog comments and not their author (Rupert Myers). The closest he comes to notability is that he has worked for two weeks in a field that is "taking money to defend evil-doers."[3] As he actively participates in the feedback comments (inflating their counts) he does get addressed in person to either answer questions or a request to debate a point but himself is never the subject.
- also contributed to the The Times - Unable to verify. Contribution to is not the same as coverage of the subject (Rupert Myers).
- been mentioned in the New York Times - That mention is in a blog and not a NY Times article and is a mention that Myers wrote an opinion piece. Myers is never the subject.[4]
- Whilst at Cambridge he co-presented the groundbreaking radio show 'Rock and Roll Politics' - Excluding WP itself there are two mentions of this on the Internet both of which are message board posts by Rupert Myers announcing an upcoming show.[5][6] This radio show never attracted attention - much less to the level that could have conferred some notability on one of its co-presenters.
- co-organising the now infamous 'Martini Monday' in aid of charity - Excluding WP itself there is one mention of this on the Internet[7] which is a college newspaper article that covers the event. Rupert Myers is quoted but is not covered here.
- As a debater at the Cambridge Union - There is no coverage of this other than announcements for the debates and Rupert Myers mentioning them on his blog.[8]. Myers is never the subject. --Marc Kupper|talk 15:10, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep - You can't just write on Commment is free : http://www.guardian.co.uk/help/2008/jun/02/1 , The Times writing is in the list of external links, the debate films are interesting. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.170.39.92 (talk) 07:59, 16 August 2009 (UTC) — 81.170.39.92 (talk • contribs) has made few or no other edits outside this topic.
