The result was redirect to Pakistan–Syria relations. There seems to be consensus that a stand-alone article is not warranted. Any content worth merging is available from the article history. Randykitty (talk) 08:27, 24 August 2021 (UTC)

I don't see why this has to be on its own article and I don't see the notability with this article. The article basically states that the government of Pakistan supports Bashar al-Assad and wants a peaceful solution to the end of the civil war. The article is an outlier as it is the only article about a country's position in the war that hasn't sent troops to fight against the various factions involved. The article should in my view be merged into Pakistan–Syria relations. --WikiCleanerMan (talk) 23:11, 9 August 2021 (UTC)
- Speedy keep: AfD is not the correct venue to request a merge. See: Wikipedia:AfD and mergers. Curbon7 (talk) 23:41, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

- This isn't a merger request, it's still a deletion request. I think the page should be deleted and it's content be merged into the relations article. --WikiCleanerMan (talk) 00:14, 10 August 2021 (UTC)
- WikiCleanerMan, See: WP:MERGETEXT; it's not a controversial move so you can just do it on your own and replace this page with a redirect. It's a provision stemming from Wikipedia:Merge and delete. Curbon7 (talk) 00:31, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

- Merge It is common for politicians or sovereign states to release their statements on the the international issues such as war, dispute etc. As per WP:NOTPAPER, this article is not suitable to be retained as a stand-alone article, and therefore it be merged into Pakistan–Syria relations. - Delete per WP:NOTESSAY and WP:TNT. In 2021, any person splashing up an even very nice essay like this is not to be taken seriously. We are not a webhost for everyone's non-fiction writing. I would not oppose a merger. Bearian (talk) 16:49, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
