This article was created on March 12, 2020. Needless to say, we've gained a bit of additional perspective since then, and at this point it simply does not make sense to have an article with such an absurdly large scope any more than it would to have an article on List of events in 2018. I could envision a decent article on the overall impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on events in general, but to get to that we need TNT. {{u|Sdkb}} talk 04:43, 23 December 2021 (UTC)

- Delete When you think about it, this list is unnecessary when basically every single event from 2020–2021 was affected by COVID-19 one way or another. Waddles 🎄 ❄️️ 05:05, 23 December 2021 (UTC)
- Delete per nom and Waddles. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 05:30, 23 December 2021 (UTC)
- I would not object to a redirect instead as suggested by some of the editors below, in order to preserve the history. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 17:22, 23 December 2021 (UTC)
- Delete. It would be fun to blank the page and replace it with the three words "All of them", but we can't have fun things so let's just delete it as overly broad. Fieari (talk) 06:34, 23 December 2021 (UTC)
- Sob. But yes, a delete for sure. -- asilvering (talk) 07:12, 23 December 2021 (UTC)

- Delete/merge A list of events not affected would probably be shorter. It might be appropriate to move List_of_events_affected_by_the_COVID-19_pandemic#Political_events to Political impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, though, for example. Reywas92Talk 14:15, 23 December 2021 (UTC)
- QUESTION I started this article when the pandemic was just starting, and I think it was serving it's purpose to inform just how big the scale of the pandemic was/is. My question now is - can this article be preserved in some way without it being live on Wikipedia as it is now, so there is more of a document as to how Wikipedia covered this pandemic? Victor Grigas (talk) 15:03, 23 December 2021 (UTC)

- I wouldn't object to keeping a copy of it in project space for historical purposes, if it were deleted. Seems harmless to archive it. XOR'easter (talk) 17:45, 25 December 2021 (UTC)

- Maybe a suitable merge target (for a summary) would be Social impact of the COVID-19 pandemic? Lots of options at Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Would be useful to preserve the history in some way IMO. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 15:28, 23 December 2021 (UTC)
- Question Could it be split into smaller lists by timeframe and/or topic? XOR'easter (talk) 22:50, 24 December 2021 (UTC)
- Possibly, but I think most of the events that'd be noteworthy enough to pass WP:INDISCRIMINATE have articles that discuss how the pandemic affected them. {{u|Sdkb}} talk 00:18, 25 December 2021 (UTC)
- Hmmm. Perhaps it would be best to redirect to Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic (thereby preserving the page history for research purposes, if anyone wants it), and selectively merge the lists to the more specific "Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on..." articles, as appropriate. XOR'easter (talk) 17:51, 25 December 2021 (UTC)

- What a thoughtful idea! Could everyone consider this idea please? Victor Grigas (talk) 14:55, 28 December 2021 (UTC)
- Delete/Merge to topical sub-pages. I don't think a list is necessary, as basically all events have been affected. But specific parts of this page are probably useful, such as the Political Events list, or the Religious Events list. These have subpages based on the "Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic" model. — Shibbolethink (♔ ♕) 18:59, 26 December 2021 (UTC)
- Delete/Merge totally unnecessary with the events that were supposed from March 2020. ApprenticeWiki work 12:29, 28 December 2021 (UTC)
- Delete per all of the above, but I think we could use the existing Category:Events affected by the COVID-19 pandemic which serves the same purpose as the list? --Kzkzb (talk) 12:40, 28 December 2021 (UTC)
