Undrafted players come and go all the time, and this user went ahead and created 6 pages for players that may never get a chance to play in an NFL game, bringing the purpose and point of their article's existence into question.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Masonjcole (talk • contribs) 01:38, 29 September 2022 (UTC)

- @Masonjcole: Playing one game in the NFL is not the touchstone of notability. Whether the individual is a college or pro player, the touchstone under WP:GNG is the presence of WP:SIGCOV in multiple, reliable, independent sources. JJIII has received such coverage, and I have added a sprinkling of such coverage to the article. We do need help weeding out unworthy articles, but please have a look at WP:BEFORE for suggested steps to take before nominating further articles for deletion. - Keep: Had 837 receiving yards in 2019 and then had seasons shortened by COVID in 2020 and injury in 2021, but still ended up with 1,928 receiving yards in his career at Oregon. Also ranks No. 10 in Oregon's long football history with 139 career receptions. See here. The following items may be viewed to greater or lesser degrees as SIGCOV: (1) "Super senior receiver Johnny Johnson III a ‘consummate leader’ for Oregon Ducks", The Oregonian, 8/24/21; (2) "Johnny Johnson III heads up a deep and talented receiver corps", USA Today, 4/16/21; (3) Johnson's time to shine, Corvallis Gazette-Times, 9/19/18; (4) "Johnny Johnson III’s exceptional blocking setting the tone for Oregon Ducks receivers who have been ‘hit and miss’ at taking on defenders", The Oregonian, 9/21/21; (5) "Oregon Ducks receiver Johnny Johnson III on Biletnikoff watch list", The Register-Guard, 7/16/20; (6) "Brothers forever, Chandler teammates T.J. Green, Johnny Johnson will be college rival", AZCentral, 11/23/16. Also 7, 8, 9, 10, 11. Cbl62 (talk) 04:37, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
- Keep, per Cbl62. Passes the general notability guideline. Players do not need to play in the NFL to be notable. BeanieFan11 (talk) 14:48, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
- Keep. Although there is no consensus for notability of college football players (Wikipedia:WikiProject_College_football/Notability#Players), he meets some of the criteria discussed, with significant statistics on a major college team, and seems to meet GNG. Ira Leviton (talk) 15:11, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
- Keep, per Cbl62. It meets WP:GNG based on the significant coverage. Hey man im josh (talk) 15:32, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
- Keep passes GNG per the sources provided by Cbl62. LEPRICAVARK (talk) 22:10, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
