WP:UNDUE for lack of size. 25 people. Uneventful. Don't merge. Religion in Haiti already has too much information on tiny sects. Needs more on major ones. Student7 (talk) 19:06, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- Comment: while I am also doubtful of the topic's independent notability, I do not follow your rationale for not merging: the information is relevant and verifiable to the history of religion in Haiti. הסרפד (call me Hasirpad) 19:45, 11 February 2014 (UTC)

- Comment while indeed according to the World Jewish Congress in 1997, there were 25 Jews living in Haiti (I suspect the population in 2014 should be higher); there actually happens to be some serious WP:INDEPTH coverage for some reason. A simple google search verifies it. ([1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], et al) --CyberXRef☎ 22:24, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- Keep With reliable and verifiable sources such as "A look into Haiti's tiny Jewish community ", in The Jerusalem Post, "Haiti’s Jewish Remnant Keeps the Faith and Lends a Hand Amid the Crisis" in The Forward and "Haiti’s Jews try to pick up the pieces" from the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, it would appear that the notability standard is met, in addition to coverage in books such as The Jewish Nation of the Caribbean: The Spanish-Portuguese Jewish Settlements in the Caribbean and the Guianas and The Jews and the Expansion of Europe to the West, 1450 to 1800. Regardless of the current size of the community, the history of Jews in Haiti extends back to the arrival of the first Europeans on the island of Hispaniola. What's needed here is expansion of the article and integration of the ample available sources. Alansohn (talk) 22:45, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- Keep per Alansohn. A small community can still be notable. --Arxiloxos (talk) 04:31, 12 February 2014 (UTC)
- Keep, firstly because the nominator's application of "WP:UNDUE" is absurd, since WP:UNDUE relates to misapplication of POVs and has nothing to do with "lack of size". Secondly, all countries where Jews have lived almost always have unique Jewish histories. The Jewish people and Jewish history in all countries where Jews have lived (no matter how large or small their numbers) are notable subjects as the vast parent Category:Jewish history by country shows and needs no endorsements from latter-day judges. Thirdly, as Users Alansohn (talk · contribs) and CyberXRef (talk · contribs) aptly and ably prove there are multiple WP:RS and WP:V sources that back up and enrich this topic. Just because something is "small" does not make it unimportant or not notable. Finally, the article is a stub and therefore WP:DONOTDEMOLISH is good advice to let it be. By the way, Jews and Judaism are not a "sect", that is a rather demeaning description. IZAK (talk) 12:12, 12 February 2014 (UTC)
- Keep As you can see, there is much relevant history here to just simply dismiss. Thank you CyberXRef and Alansohn for the added sources.SJ
