The article does not cite any references or sources since 2009. References seems unlikely to be found. The article also shows signs of original research. It should hence be deleted. Rahul Jain (talk) 11:03, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- keep There are in fact references provided, but they are not in-line and do not provide page numbers. I don't think this is an essay so much as it is something written back in the days when the standards for article writing/referencing were a lot more lax. The topic is surely notable. - Keep - the article does indeed cite 3 sources; a quick look at the web finds signs there will be many more. Santhara is certainly a death-related topic in Jainism, and there appears to be a large literature on the subject. Specialist help may be needed but the topic is, per Mangoe, indeed surely notable. - Keep, and work to make the sources in-line There are enough sources (albeit non-inline), and it is of the religious beliefs of a well-known faith. Notability established. ShawnIsHere: Now in colors 08:16, 3 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep - This is the second time within a month that this nominator has proposed an article on Jainism for deletion. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Atman_(Jainism). I find this odd, particularly as he has also placed a tag on another article on Jainism viz. Tirthankara. I find nothing confusing in that article either. All these articles deal with notable issues in Jainism, are informative and to the point. Given the importance of the religion, they are relevant and the references available and provided for this article, as Mangoe says, are meaningful.Santhara (see Sallekhana) as Chiswick Chap has pointed out, is indeed a notable death-related topic in Jainism.--Zananiri (talk) 17:23, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
