This author has created so many pages with "Christianity in [an Indian city/state]". All of them says "Christianity is a minority in [an Indian city/state]" which is obviously WP:UNDUE. Vipin Hari || talk 19:24, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete as nom, per WP:CRYSTAL and WP:ORIGINAL. Vipin Hari || talk 03:44, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete. There has to be a very good reason to have a "Christianity in Province" article. I can appreciate the notability of Christianity in Goa, but this article would be in the same league as Christianity in Sichuan. Or even Christianity in Yorkshire. StAnselm (talk) 05:23, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- I have read that the Christian population of West Bengal exceeds 100,000 by far. Sarcelles (talk) 11:36, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- I suggest a merger with St. Paul's Cathedral, Kolkata and St. Thomas Church, Kolkata. Sarcelles (talk) 11:41, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion so consensus may be reached.

- Keep If minority status is WP:UNDUE, several other articles regarding X in Y would qualify despite more info ShawnIsHere (talk) 03:34, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Delete without prejudiceWeak Keep. The article has 3 sentences. One is about Mother Teresa, one is about the Diocese of Calcutta, and one says simply "Christianity decidedly is a minority in West Bengal, India." The list of of links is only partly West-Bengal-related. It's not clear there is enough to say about "Christianity in West Bengal" as a topic. If we leave a red link, and sufficient reliable sources appear, someone may be able to create a worthwhile article later on. StAnselm is right: this article is like Christianity in Markazi or even Christianity in Texas. -- Radagast3 (talk) 06:23, 20 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]- Keep Having an article about a minority group is not WP:UNDUE, otherwise we would be obliged to delete Judaism as well as many of the subarticles off of Catholicism_by_country, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints membership statistics (Canada) and related articles, etc. Edward321 (talk) 01:07, 21 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- But West Bengal is not a country. I think we're agreed that Christianity in India and Christianity in Goa are notable, but, as StAnselm says, we need a good reason to have a "Christianity in Province" article. It's not clear that such a reason exists for West Bengal. -- Radagast3 (talk) 02:11, 21 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- St. Paul's Cathedral, Kolkata and Mother Teresa have an article, too. According to http://ncm.nic.in/minority_population.pdf, the number of Christians in West Bengal in 2001 exceeded 500,000. Sarcelles (talk) 09:03, 21 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep -- India is a vast country, and the Christian minority is as large as the population of some whole countries. Merging to the Cathedral in the biggest city is completely the wring solution. Tha answer is to keep it but tag it as a stub. Peterkingiron (talk) 18:43, 21 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge into Christianity in India. There's simply not enough to say about Christianity in West Bengal to support a whole article. I
notice, however, that while the article says "The percentage of Christians in West Bengal at the 2001 census was at 0.6%", this image shows West Bengal having a Christian population of >50%.+Angr 12:44, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Hmmm. That image is supposed to represent this census data, which has 515,150 Christians in West Bengal, out of 80,176,197. Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Nagaland have Christian majorities. -- Radagast3 (talk) 14:04, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep As I have substantiated above, it covers a notable topic. I have expanded this article to well above 1000 byte. There is hope for further improvement, e. g. by people able to read Bengali. Sarcelles (talk) 20:33, 23 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep the information provided already is sourced, and this has plenty of room for expansion. Dew Kane (talk) 04:42, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Changed to "weak keep", since there is a history that could be included. -- Radagast3 (talk) 14:15, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
