1996 Paris Métro bombing

Non-notable (WP:GNG, WP:EVENT) news event created by a user who is spamming Wikipedia with attacks by Muslims. Just about every mention of this attack post- the month it happened in is just listing it in a long list of events, and the rest are similarly trivial. I wouldn't even bother merging this to a bigger article. –Roscelese (talk ⋅ contribs) 05:25, 17 November 2015 (UTC)
- Sorry, I don't have better sources myself, but I would think a terrorist bombing resulting in deaths would always classify as notable. Ruigeroeland (talk) 08:24, 17 November 2015 (UTC)
- Seems pretty notable to me. Unless someone is suggesting that only events where tens of people died should have their own page, I can't see a guidance reason why this should not be considered to be notable. And I also don't really see that adding factual and sourced information to wikipedia can be considered to be "spamming". If others want to add equivalent information about armed attacks by other groups, they are of course free to do so. JMWt (talk) 08:37, 17 November 2015 (UTC)

- Keep The article is a small stub and the info wasn't totally correct, but the attack was in no way a routine event. Paris is not Beirut. The background was a series of attacks in France by an Algerian terror group in 1995 which greatly upset the French. Then there was a pause in attacks until this attack in December 1996 which caused new concern. After this there were no more terror attacks in Paris until the attacks against Charlie Hebdo recently. The attack has its own article in both French and German Wikipedia. (The French article lists 4 dead; two immediately and two later). Iselilja (talk) 12:28, 17 November 2015 (UTC)

- Keep: Regardless of the motive of the author (he can be blocked if not here to contribute and other writers can bring it up to the rules), an attack in a Western capital which killed three people is something unexpected and would have national implications. I am not familiar with this particular attack but I think it is likely there are resources to document its impact. '''tAD''' (talk) 14:25, 17 November 2015 (UTC)
- Keep. It might be a stub at the moment, but there are plenty of sources (see for example the refs at the French counterpart) to back up notability, so I see no reason to delete it. - HyperGaruda (talk) 16:29, 17 November 2015 (UTC)
- Keep. Easily satisfies WP:GNG given both the references currently in the article as well as dozens more that can be seen by clicking on one of the 'find sources' links, which the nominator clearly failed to do. And as log as we're impugning motives, one would probably want to take a look at the motivations of the nominator, who has been following the article creator around, voting to delete any and all of the articles he created. - Keep. This is an event with long-lasting impact as evident from the coverage in books [1], for example this book dated 2002. My very best wishes (talk) 16:14, 18 November 2015 (UTC)
- Comment. The material does deserve a place in Wikipedia. It appears as though the bombing was one in a series of bombings in France from 1995 to 1996, so I'm not sure if this should be merged with 1995 Paris Métro and RER bombings. One source also point to two studies in major psychiatry journals investigating PTSD in relation to this specific bombing and the group of bombings. - Location (talk) 17:40, 18 November 2015 (UTC)
