american conservatism
I'll let the regulars on the conservatism page sort it out, (I have better things to do, like vandal-whacking and typo-chasing) all I know is no-one was consulted on this page and cielomobile has caused a serious disruption of. He would need a firm rap on his knuckles. His claims to wp:rm and 'consensus' (even on the lib. page) are clearly fatuous. But I`m no longer going to get invloved in it, others can do that better than I can, I hope. --Isolani 09:15, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
RE:Jadger
Thank you for the new userbox, it really is quite nice. this 207/131/Serafin/Arudra person has been blocked, and was evading a block, hence why I was reverting him. Also, there was about a dozen editors against his edits on various articles, but he kept adding POV nationalist and sometimes even racist remarks into articles without references or discussing on the talk page. He has been blocked on German and Polish Wikipedias for along time already, so I wouldnt call it a edit war, more like stopping a disruptive user.
you should get a barnstar for your userbox creation, but alas I cant find the rite one, feel free to add the barnstar yourself in my name if you come accross it.
thanks Again--Jadger 16:48, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
- I like the new edit, but the celtic cross doesn't really fit Central Europe. maybe a Balken Kreuz would be more fitting, or the double headed eagle of the Habsburgs. Don't get me wrong, I dont want to come across as ungrateful, I just don't think the Celtic Cross fits.
- --Jadger 23:13, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
yes, but the Celtic cross is most often associated with Ireland/Wales/Scotland. Also, the celtic cross is sometimes used as a Neo-nazi symbol. Instead of a symbol, how about a famous central European person like Jan Hus or Otto von Bismarck or Frederick Barbarossa or Martin Luther. perhaps even a small map like those on Central Europe article, rather than a cross that represents some people that lived in a portion of the land for a relatively little while.

Thank you, it looks great now.

Nazvy
- Darwinek 16:03, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
:) - Darwinek 21:04, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
New German Grammar
Hi Tulkolahten,
To be honest, I've never come accross that problem. I would probably try to find out what version of the name is most common in new English-language literature. But all in all, I don't think it makes a big difference.--Carabinieri 13:18, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
cs?
Sudetenland
Sudetenland is a recognized HISTORICAL region in the Czech Republic . Your assumption that it does not exist is silly!! Also, if you are so keen to correct work done by others check your facts!! Javorniky Mountains are located about 150 km south-east of Hranicky. As I grew up in Javornik and Hranicky, I think I do know a bit about the area. Greetings from New York City. Dr.Jur. H.H. von Bressendorf —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Bolekpolivka (talk • contribs) 17:34, 21 January 2007 (UTC).
- Darwinek 15:20, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
- Darwinek 17:17, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
Vyřeší. Už v minulosti blokován byl, teď to bude mnohem delší, stačí ho vzájemně revertovat. - Darwinek 18:21, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
Podle pravidel to musí udělat ještě jednou, pak ho můžeš nahlásit tady. Díky za pomoc. - Darwinek 18:25, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
Čau. Tak co říkáš na tu včerejší frašku? :) Jinak, prohlížel jsem tvoje userboxy. Kde ses naučil finsky? Jo a jinak by tě mohl zajímat tento userbox: User:Baristarim/Userbox/Independent Mars. :) - Darwinek 11:45, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
- Tak to je dost dobrý trik :)). Spolu s tvým finsky-znějícím uživatelským jménem člověk nabude dojmu, že jsi fakt Fin. :) - Darwinek 11:50, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
- Nic nového :(. Ten chudák potřebuje nějakou holku, nebo já už nevím co. - Darwinek 13:10, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
:( - Darwinek 13:15, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
Your comments on my talk
Don't be falsely accusing me of vandalism. You are mischaracterizing the rules of Wikipedia:Naming conventions. But see also Talk:Marek Špilár. The problem there was a completely and totally unsourced and unverifiable change. We were being asked to buy a pig in a poke and to rely on improper original research of some Wikipedia editor. But even once you have established a name such as "Marek Špilár" as an acceptable variant spelling, something that had not been done, that is still not determinative of which of the variant spellings gets allocated the one slot available for the article name, the subject of the naming conventions pages. Defaultsort
Hello Tulkolahten! Template:DEFAULTSORT is a new tool that automatically categorizes an article for each category. Usage of it avoids the need to add "|Hasek, Dominik" for each individual category.
From Wikipedia:Categorization#Category sorting:
- The default sort key of a page for categories can be changed using the new
DEFAULTSORT
magic word. For instance, on George Washington,
would cause a subsequent
to be equivalent to
, not
. This is especially useful when the article belongs in many categories. See Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/2007-01-02/Technology report.
Diacritics are not sorted correctly within the current WP system. For instance, the Polish letter "Ł" follows "L" in the Polish alphabet. However, within WP's current ordering system, "Ł" would be listed after "Z". To avoid this, Łabiszyn is categorized as and is listed within the Ls. Technically this is not correct (as its real name is not "Labiszyn"), but this is preferred over the alternative. Additionally, Łabiszyn displays as "Łabiszyn" within the category, not as "Labiszyn". That is why I removed the diacritics from the categorization of Hašek. Hope this helps! Olessi 21:38, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
Darwinek's own block
I was just talking about it on IRC. Maybe if he wants to be blocked we should leave it. I'd be glad to unblock him if he requests to be unblocked though. Regards, Húsönd 21:39, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
Stop missorting
Please stop deliberately misindexing articles so that they do not sort correctly in categories, such as this edit at Dominik Hašek. And, don't be accusing me of vandalism in your edit summaries, as you do your own vandalism. Someone else has already fixed that one. Go back and fix any others you have messed up the same way. Clean up your own act
Copied from my talk page: You are a chauvinist do you know that ? Do you have something against other nations, maybe racism-based ? Do you have some bad experience with other nations or languages ? ≈Tulkolahten≈≈talk≈ 15:24, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
- Me? You are the one being chauvinistic, and clearly showing no respect whatsoever for the English language. For example, you are quite willing to accept that a name of a town or whatever can be spelled differently in Polish than it is in German (substitute pretty much any other two languages, Russian and Ukrainian, Croatian and Italian, whatever), yet you are totally unwilling to accept the simple fact that it can have an English spelling, and that that English spelling is what we should be using here on the English Wikipedia. Go edit some other Wikipedia if you cnanot accept the fact that this is the English Wikipedia.
- You are the one who blatantly ignores the guidelines of Wikipedia:Naming conventions (use English) and of Wikipedia:Manual of Style and of Wikipedia:Manual of Style (dates and numbers) and Wikipedia:Categorization of people and a zillion other guidelines. I'd suggest you start straightening up your own act.
- For a specific example, contrary to the guideline which states that "The body of each article, preferably in its first paragraph, should list all common names by which its subject is known", you have in this edit improperly deleted the name by which the subject is known at EuroSport.com and at The Internet Soccer Database and at hundreds of other sites in English. You did that despite the fact that you did not have consensus for it, and despite the fact that not just me but also MarkBA had said on the talk page: "Leave Špilár as the article's title, but note that Spilar is used in foreign countries as his name." You totally ignore discussions as well as guidelines, and just bull-headedly charge ahead with your own chauvinistic agenda. Gene Nygaard 15:54, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
