License tagging for Image:Carlsonriverboarding.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Carlsonriverboarding.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 03:08, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
Riverboarding
Thanks for your contribution to the riverboarding article. I've edited it a little it so as to better reflect your status as a riverboarding originator and pioneer. Shawn in Montreal 17:05, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Dear Mr. Carlson, I did not delete your images and I'm very sorry they were removed. When you posted them to Wikipedia, did you remember to click on the tag that says you are the author and you release them, etc.? If you did, then this will satisfy the photo rights people who patrol these things. Are for questioning your existence, I did write you above to apologize for momentarily not grasping who you are. "Far from denying your existence," I then went on to revise the article to ENHANCE your status as the riverboarding pioneer. I'd be very happy if you could reupload your images, remembering this time to select a photo rights tag. I'm no expert but I'll walk you through it if you have any questions. And please continue to make additions to the Riverboarding article as you see fit. Shawn in Montreal 19:47, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
Question
Robert Carlson,
Shawn in Montreal brought to my attention the problems with the Riverboarding images. Were these photographs taken by a person, or by a machine? Thanks, – Quadell (talk) (random) 19:56, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
- Hi. These are action photos taken at various positions on a white water river so I think it's highly unlikely that they were taken automatically by machine, but I'll let Robert reply.Shawn in Montreal 20:17, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
