4th Canadian Engineers
The article is supposed to be about the unit, if you have additional information about the two VC winners then the place that information belongs is in the articles about them, not in effect creating a second article about each of them by adding all the information to the article on their unit. At the moment there is nothing about the unit itself other than it's name. Nthep (talk) 14:27, 29 August 2014 (UTC)
Two members both tunnellers one from the Royal Engineers England and one from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada of the 1st Canadian Tunnellers Company were awarded the Victoria Cross. The Victoria Cross Medal is the highest military honour for bravery. These two gentlemen of distinction are listed alphabetically here in the List of Victoria Cross recipients (G–M). The award has been presented to 96 Canadians since its inception. See the List of Canadian Victoria Cross recipients. As of 1993, Canadians were no longer eligible for the British Victoria Cross, for the medal was replaced with a new Canadian Victoria Cross (Canada). It has yet to be awarded. This is a list of the 96 Canadians who have received this medal of distinction for bravery. List of Canadian Victoria Cross recipients.
Sapper William Hackett of the 254 Tunnelling Company, an English Royal Engineer awarded posthumously for helping his fellow miners when a tunnel collapsed at Givenchy-lès-la-Bassée, France on 26 June 1916. His medal is held by the Royal Engineers Museum and he is commemorated at the Tunnellers Memorial.
Canadian Captain Coulson Norman Mitchell, of the No 1 Tunnelling Company, 4th Canadian Division of Royal Canadian Engineers was awarded the Victoria Cross for bravely trying to prevent the demolition of bridges on the Canal de I'Escaut, north-east of Cambrai on 8–9 October 1918. Mitchell traversed a difficult and dangerous climb underneath a high canal bridge, he then successfully disarmed the explosives that were attached to the bridge thus preventing inevitable explosions and destruction of the bridge. Captain Mitchell led squad to examine the various bridges on the line of approach and if possible, to prevent their demolition. On reaching the canal he found the first bridge already blown up. Under a heavy barrage he crossed to the next bridge, where he cut a number of enemy charge wires. Then in total darkness, unaware of the position or strength of the enemy at the bridgehead, he dashed across the main bridge over the canal. This bridge was found to be heavily charged for demolition and Captain Mitchell, assisted by one of his men was cutting the wires, the enemy attempted to rush the bridge in order to blow the charges. He at once dashed to the assistance of his sentry, who had been wounded, killed three of the enemy, captured 12 and maintained the bridgehead until reinforced. Then under heavy fire he continued his task of cutting wires and removing charges and saved the important bridge across the canal from destruction. For most conspicuous bravery and devotion to duty, he was awarded the Victoria Cross on January 31, 1919. He later served in world War II, achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and was the only Canadian military engineer to be vested the Victoria Cross award. He died at age 88 in Montreal, Canada. [1] The bridges were part of a strategically key location. The salvation of this bridge created a turning point in the war. His medal is held by the Canadian Military Engineers' Canadian Military Engineers Museum, CFB Gagetown, New Brunswick located in the province of New Brunswick, Canada. A building there is named after him. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Lieutenant Colonel Coulson Mitchell retired as commander of the Royal School of Military Engineering CFB Chilliwack in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada and as a decorated Victoria Cross recipient and as well as a coveted Military Cross recipient.

Holders of decorations below the VC & GC/GM
You're probably not aware of this but there are notability criteria that apply to people awarded gallantry and other awards. The criteria can be found at WP:SOLDIER and single awards of decorations below the VC, GC & GM are not sufficient on there own to merit inclusion as an article. Nthep (talk) 18:58, 11 September 2014 (UTC)
- Note that the GM is not sufficient either, although a bar would be. -- Necrothesp (talk) 09:39, 12 September 2014 (UTC)

You need to slow down for a minute on Clarence Melbourne Clucas
Greetings, I see you both published an article Clarence Melbourne Clucas (after I trimmed all the titles out of the article title), and also submitted a draft on your Sandbox. You're moving to fast and making mistakes that are a hassle to untangle, so please take a pause to mind what you're doing so this can go smoothly. A few points:
- Do not, do not, do not copy-paste an article while in reading mode. That captures none of the coding whatsoever, which is why Draft:Clarence Melbourne Clucas looks absolutely terrible, a jumble of text (I put in spaces between lines to make it legible), no section headings, non-functional footnotes, Wikipedia alerts given as text, etc. If you want to copy-paste something, do it in Edit mode so you actually capture the coding.
- That said, you want to avoid copy-pasting whole articles anyway. If you need to move an article somewhere, use the Move button. I'm doing that right now to move the existing article back to Draft for review, since it will inevitably be deleted if left in present form.
- It's about to get deleted for the reasons listed here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lieutenant Commander Squadron Leader Clarence Melbourne Clucas MBE. Basically, you haven't given us any reason to believe this person is significant enough to merit an article. I strongly recommend you read WP:Notability to get an idea of the benchmark.
- If you believe that this person does indeed meet Notability, please have the article moved to "Draftspace" so you can continue to develop it and then submit it for review, that way you can get advice and it won't be deleted while in progress. If you need it moved, please let us know by posting such at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lieutenant Commander Squadron Leader Clarence Melbourne Clucas MBE.
MatthewVanitas (talk) 15:45, 14 September 2014 (UTC) Thank you MatthewVanitas. Could you assist me on how to move the article to Draftspace. MBE is a title of Britsh Nobility that qualifies for WPNotability. Please advise.
