Speedy deletion of Jacek papla
A tag has been placed on Jacek papla requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. Re: Jacek papla
Hi there Caxus. I'm the user that tagged Jacek papla in the first place. I appreciate the fact that you want to share the artwork of this artist, but if the artist isn't famous or notable or has made a significant impact in the field of art, then he isn't really notable enough to be in Wikipedia. The basic idea of Wikipedia is to build a free encyclopedia. That means a real encyclopedia. So, therefore, articles have to be notable enough to feature in a real encyclopedia. Of course, the art of many artists is very good, but they aren't famous enough to be on this encyclopedia. Even though I tagged the article, if it can be proved notable, then I'm all for it staying on Wikipedia. The only reason I did tag it was because I had done searches on the artist and hadn't found much indicating a place. I would like to direct you to this page - Wikipedia:CREATIVE#Creative professionals. It lists the criteria for notability for those in the fine arts. If you can prove at least one of these, then your article is likely to stay on WIkipedia. Thank you Olly150 16:45, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
