March 2024
Hello, I'm Nick Levine. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to October 7 have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Please give change reasons in English as this is an English language wiki. Please do not give misleading change reasons. Note that the lede description of Hamas is “military” rather than “terrorist”. Nick Levine (talk) 07:36, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Nick Levine hamas is not a military,it's a terrorist organization. ראשון לציון (talk) 10:35, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
- It's so clear,you and Wikipedia should be ahsamed.
- Saying that hamas is a terror organization is not an opinion,it's a clear fact.
- do you want some resources to this? ראשון לציון (talk) 10:36, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
Introduction to contentious topics
You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Additionally, you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

. 331dot (talk) 16:18, 28 March 2024 (UTC)You'll need to also propose a new username that is less provocative(see WP:USERNAME). 331dot (talk) 16:20, 28 March 2024 (UTC)
- @331dot how is it provocative?
- because it is Hebrew name?
- you're antisemitic and this behavior is not acceptable. ראשון לציון (talk) 16:25, 28 March 2024 (UTC)
- Further personal attacks and your access to this page will be removed. Per the Contentious Topic regime, you can't even edit about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict yet anyway. Your username violates the username policy as a name that makes "harmonious editing difficult or impossible to achieve". Wikipedia has editors from all over the world of all nationalities and races, that includes Arabs and Palestinians. "Palestine first" would be blockable as well, this has nothing to do with Israel itself. 331dot (talk) 16:29, 28 March 2024 (UTC)
- @331dot is "ראשון לציון" provocative name?
- it's an Israeli city. ראשון לציון (talk) 16:31, 28 March 2024 (UTC)
- The WP:UAA report stated that it translates as "Israel first". (diff) 331dot (talk) 16:36, 28 March 2024 (UTC)
- @331dot "ראשון לציון" is rishon letzion.
- but it can also be translated as "first"-ראשון
- ל-to
- ציון-jerusalem
- but that's a name of a city,google it. ראשון לציון (talk) 17:22, 28 March 2024 (UTC)
- Even if the username is okay, I stand by the block itself. You have one edit to the encyclopedia, which was made in a topic area you can't be editing about(you didn't know that at first, but you do now.) If you want to edit about other topics, please tell what. 331dot (talk) 16:38, 28 March 2024 (UTC)
