This is jdelbridges first wiki. He will attempt to learn to be a proficient wikier. He hopes to learn how to use Wikis so he can empower nonprofit organizations to harness Wiki's power of collaborative documentation to strengthen community efforts.
Purpose
I am looking for an easy way to setup a wiki site for small to mid sized community nonprofit organizations to better connect with the community stakeholders (residents, businesses, community leaders and elected officials).
Format
I believe formatting this and other Wiki pages will be very important as I develop Wikis. This page will not only be a lesson for me in learning how to be a good Wili author, but also a test of the PBwiki site.
Markup
I would like to find an application of Wiki that uses exactly the same markup as Wikipedia. This is because I believe although the code is reletivly easy to learn, having two sets of markup to learn for two Wikis will be to confusing for me.
Links
There are two types of links in a wiki:
- Internal Links are refrences to other pages in the same site.
- External Links are hyperlinks to sites other than the current site. An example of this follows:[1]
Contents
The automated table of contents is an importnat feature to me. I would like to make sure this feature works in PBwiki
Conclusions
After my first post, I realized PBwiki is not the application I hoped for. It is too commercial and does not share all of the same markup as mediawiki.
