Name change of article?
I’m thinking it may be more appropriate to amend the disambiguation on this article to something else, maybe singer, actress or even just artist. Thoughts? Gleeanon409 (talk) 00:39, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Logs indicate that the article was begun at its present name and never moved. What is your rationale for changing the WP:STATUSQUO? An article name should be stable so that it can be reliably found and linked-to. Elizium23 (talk) 01:16, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
A redirect should easily solve most issues. As for the rationale it’s because since the article’s inception she has come out as a trans woman and professionally has expanded her career, notably as a Broadway actress. Gleeanon409 (talk) 01:32, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Do you feel that "drag queen" no longer accurately describes her, or do you think instead that it is merely a diminishing part of what she does? Elizium23 (talk) 01:50, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Just not as accurate any longer. Performer or entertainer is more appropriate. Gleeanon409 (talk) 02:00, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I think ‘entertainer’ illustrates all that she does including acting and singing. @GorillaWarfare:, and @Elizium23:, can you support that or is another term better? Gleeanon409 (talk) 16:53, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Why the title change? What's wrong with "drag queen"? I assume this is how most sources describe her. ---Another Believer(Talk) 15:10, 11 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I Agree with renaming to entertainer. There's nothing wrong with being a drag queen but labeling Peppermint as just that seems limiting? cave (talk) 20:23, 11 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Another Believer: The reasoning is that she also performs in other capacities than drag (for example, her performance on Broadway). Sort of like how Madonna is a singer, but the article is titled Madonna (entertainer) because she also acts, etc. GorillaWarfare(talk) 22:09, 11 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
GorillaWarfare, I'll assume most people describe Peppermint as a drag queen, as do more sources per my Google search just now, but I guess I'm not opposed to "entertainer" if that's what editors generally prefer. ---Another Believer(Talk) 23:42, 11 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
