Redundant
This article is redundant with the article for "airship".
I propose to merge the two, since "airship" is the less obscure term
leaving just the explanation about the origin of the term
and a pointer to the "airship" article.

I disagree, there should be similar articles for each term with the differences made apparent. BTW, for what most people think of
when hearing the term airship, dirigible would be the proper term and in that case airship should point to dirigible but I feel there is enough of a difference to warrant two similar but separate articles. I will work on the dirigible article myself over time.
