How exactly is Dedication to Pope Paul III a banned writer. It is a book! A writer has to be a human!216.7.254.254 15:43, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
Hi, Arbeiter, welcome to Wikipedia. There are some POV issues that I see in the text that we'll need to address latter, but my first concern is if the translation of the dedication you transcribed is in public domain. Even if the text is free-use, it is possible that an integral (albeit still small) transcription of an original source may be objected by some, I’m not sure how WP guidelines apply in this last context. --Leinad ¬ »saudações! 19:34, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
- Good call! I did not think about checking for the copyright of its translation. I found this exact translation at four educational institutions. None of them mentioned who performed the translation. The only versions that did cite the translator were recent translations and were slightly different from the version I posted. It turns out that the "fair use" policy is more lenient for educational institutions, so I offered a temporary link to one. If someone has a version that is known to be in the public domain, please post it, and save me a trip to the library. Arbeiter 21:22, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
