This might be too in the weeds, but it seems to me that there are at least two distinct meanings of 'acting' in the legal context.
Temporary actings, who are serving in someone else's place; and
Agents, who are acting – potentially on an indefinite basis – on behalf of someone else.

I think the hatnote is a fine resolution. The agency sense would never be found outside of a phrase indicating that the subject was acting on behalf of another. BD2412T 15:17, 22 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
"Interim" or "Interrex"?
At the section "See also" in the article, it is probably better to mention the term "Interrex" instead of "Interim". -- Hamid Hassani (talk) 20:00, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
