Avoid overloading info-en
A lot of people email info-en asking for:
- Information about products of companies on which we have articles.
- Information about registering in universities.
- Permission to reproduce our text or images.
- General questions on science, history etc.
All these people receive "boilerplate" answers which redirect them away. In order to relieve the load on info-en, all such requests should be discouraged. David.Monniaux 13:19, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not sure I agree. Boilerplate answers are exceedingly easy to send, and I doubt many people will bother to read the now-lengthy instructions. I prefer to keep it short and sweet. — Dan | talk 15:59, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
Contacting other users
This page is missing some of the most important ways to contact Wikipedia, i.e. other Wikipedians. I suggest including most if not all on WP:HELP here or at least a link to that page called "Where to find answers to specific kinds of questions" or "How to ask other users specific kinds of questions". Also, please correct "adminsitrators" --Espoo 03:01, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
- WP:HELP is linked from "how to edit." I believe adminsitrators is already fixed. The Uninvited Co., Inc. 21:36, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
Typo
There is a section on this page entitled 'for Website adminisitrators' - note the extra 'i'. Perhaps an admin (or whoever has the appropriate permissions to edit the page) could correct this? Cynical 18:37, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
Actually, it's "adminsitrators", as i already pointed out :-) --Espoo 20:18, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
For future reference, adding the {{tl|Editprotected}} template to a talk page should get an administrator to come by shortly and examine the request to edit a protected page, hopefully =P. — TheKMantalk 20:37, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
Interwiki Requests
Since the page is protected, could you please add the lb-interwiki link ? => [[lb:Wikipedia:Kontakt]].
Thanks a lot
Since this page is protected, could an admin add an interwiki link to [[no:Wikipedia:Kontakt]]? Mathias-S 17:56, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
- ok. The Uninvited Co., Inc. 17:47, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
Admins add sl:Wikipedija:Stik z nami to interwikies. --Mihael Simonič 12:49, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
Press contact
FYI - I redirected the press contact to the Foundation Press page. It's more appropriate and far more up to date than the en page (I also removed the en page and put a link to the foundation press room). Raul654 04:50, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
Redundancy
It seems a bit redundant to say "how to contact wikipedia, the free encyclopedia" right below the message saying "from wikipedia, the free encyclopedia" no? :) Moulder 12:33, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
- Well, do you have any better suggestions over this redundancy? --Siva1979Talk to me 13:01, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
- Just to remove the second "the free encyclopedia" is all I'm getting at. Moulder 20:17, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
How to create articles
Can someone add a reply to "How do I create an article" and link it to eg. Wikipedia:Your first article? [ælfəks] 02:22, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
Another request: please update the #subtitle part of the link in "Am I supposed to be able to edit your site?" to read: #Am I supposed to be able to edit your site, even if I am not logged on?
Thanks. --Quiddity 03:49, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
3rd section
The sentence in the 3rd para should read Unblocked for editing. Someone please correct it -- Lost(talk) 04:13, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
- I believe it is this way because the termenology is "blocked from editing", so the opposite would be "unblocked from editing". If you still want it changed, you can summons an admin by using {{editprotected}}. Timrem 04:23, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Questions - merge?
The Sidebar redesign group is currently planning on placing both "Questions" and "Contact us" in the redesigned sidebar. There is some concern that these pages overlap (which was first mentioned in January), and/or are confusingly similar, and/or don't link to each other clearly enough.
This note is just to prompt these pages' maintainers into A) working together to clarify the purpose and difference of both pages, and B) to raise the possibility of a merge. I'll leave you to work the details out :) --Quiddity 18:52, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
Contact for reporting abuse or vandals
The article "Plasma (Physics)" has been vandalised, but when I tried to edit/repair it, the edit page shows the pristine text, i.e., no vandalism. I don't know how this can be, and I don't have time to work it out. I do think there should be some way to contact wikipedia under the "contact wikipedia" link to simply REPORT vandalism -- apart from anything else, a highly technical article may well be beyond the expertise of the editor/repairer.
++++++++++
There are some users who revert on-topic comments in discussion sections. One of these (Beneaththelandslide), did this for one of my comments for a political figure. He simply deleted my comment and the false reason for it was "vandalism" (it's not). I wanted to report his behaviour, but I could find no contact on the page. You don't want users like this around, because it undermines wikipedia. If someone comes along and provides an insight in the discussion section, people like this will delete it. They don't care about constructive or two-way discussion. They use wikipedia as their playground. So, please make it easier to report someone's behaviour. Thanks.

Font size
Why is the font size so huge on this page? Can't it simply be left at default? Not only that, but one of the sections is at the default size, making it look puny compared to the others. I also had an idea that different audiences (i.e. press, newbies, Wikipedians) could each have a box in a different colour (columns?) for questions specific to them. — JeremyTalk 07:54, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Help!
I was trying to find out how to make portals like youguys do here on wikipedia whensome perosn gotrid of it and calledit 'vandalism"? What'd Ido wrong? ithink it might be some sort of meanie weinie. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.93.172.82 (talk • contribs) 20:13, 29 October 2006.
- It was considered vandalism because you deleted the rest of the page to ask your question. To make a portal, just go to a page like Portal:WHATEVER and make it. If you mean you have your own Wiki and want portals, You need to edit a .php file, i think it is. You can look that up on http://www.mediawiki.org. Timrem 06:20, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
could you please add us to your Links list.
Hi there,
Just wondering if you can add our 'Link' to your website 'Links list' please.
LINK Magazine has an online Website that would be terrific if you could add us onto your list please.
www.linkonline.com.au
Thanks very much
Cheers!

Citing Wikipedia
Anyone agree the link "how do I cite WP" should point to Wikipedia:Citing_Wikipedia rather than to a very short FAQs which just points to this link? --BozMo talk 12:37, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
