Ryan ToysReview is a child YouTube star. His channel releases a new toy review video every day, many of which have become popular, with "time to Hug Eggs Surprise Toys Challenge" receiving over 1.6 billion views as of November 2018, making it one of the 50 most viewed videos on YouTube.[1] The Verge has described the channel as “a mash-up of personal vlog and “unboxing” video, a blend of innocent childhood antics and relentless, often overwhelming consumerism."[2] As of November 12, 2018, he has received over 25 billion views.
According to Forbes' magazine, Ryan is the 8th highest paid YouTube entrepreneur, having brought in $11 million in revenue between 2016 and 2017.[3]
Background
Ryan began making YouTube videos in March 2015 when he was watching other toy review channels like EvanTubeHD, and asked his mother one day why he was not on YouTube doing the same thing.[4] Ryan's mother decided to quit her job as a high school chemistry teacher to work on the YouTube channel full-time.[2]
In 2017, Ryan's parents signed a deal with Pocket.watch, a startup children's media company that was founded in 2016 by Chris Williams and Albie Hecht. Pocket.watch does the marketing and merchandise for Ryan's YouTube channels.[5]

Legacy
Ryan has influenced the toy industry, similar to PewDiePie and video games. Ryan's toy reviews, especially those which get millions of views, can affect the toy's sales.[2] Chris Williams of Pocket.watch compared Ryan to Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants.[6]
At the Toy Fair 2018 in New York, Ryan ToysReview announced to introduce a line of toys. The toy line will be branded as Ryan's World and produced by Bonkers Toys. The release is planned for fall 2018.[7] On July 30, Pocket.watch announced a wide range of Ryan's World toys that were released exclusively at Walmart stores and walmart.com on August 6, 2018.[8]
