Gugan District (Persian: بخش گوگان) is in Azarshahr County, East Azerbaijan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Gugan.[3]
History
After the 2011 National Census, the village of Teymurlu was elevated to the status of a city.[4]
Demographics
Population
At the time of the 2006 census, the district's population was 23,616 in 6,473 households.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 24,954 people in 7,764 households.[6] The 2016 census measured the population of the district as 24,873 inhabitants living in 8,117 households.[2]
