English: The Life of Shenoute, Sahidic Coptic script, black ink, papyrus, 6th-7th century CE. From Egypt. British Museum, London. This papyrus sheet was part of a Codex, consisting of a double-sided papyrus bound into a book. Shenoute, Abbott of the White Monastery in Sohag, died in 466 CE. This particular copy may be the work of a later disciple. There several main episodes in the text, including 3 miraculous deliveries of grain in time of shortage. EA71005/6.
