English: Gentil's own Involvement with the Recent History of Oudh
Interview of Gentil with the nawab when he brought a corps of 200 French soldiers to Oudh, who had been forced to serve the British but had deserted. Later this force was increased up to 600 soldiers. Shuja took them into his service as he wished to keep Gentil with him.
