Additional information | Appears to be a copy of a commercial postcard published in Poland. No evidence that this is anyway the work of a US sailor, let alone done as part of his duties.
This vessel was seized by the United States government when it entered World War I, so this image is earlier than 3 August 1917 and therefore in the public domain. If the postmark on the other side of the card is legible, that would indicate when the postcard was mailed. |
