English: Runcorn Free Public Library Entrance Hall in 1901. The entrance was in Egerton Street. From 1882 the library was housed in Waterloo House, converted from a private residence by architect James Wilding, surveyor and water engineer to the Runcorn Urban District Council. In 1906 the library was altered and extended by Wilding with a grant from Andrew Carnegie. Photograph from Views and Memoranda of Public Libraries by Alfred Cotgreave.
