English: VADM William P. Lawrence (1930–2005), was a naval aviator, U.S. Third Fleet commander, and Vietnam War prisoner of war. The U.S. Navy guided missile destroyer USS William P. Lawrence (DDG-110) honors her namesake by maintaining a POW-MIA table even in the already cramped mess deck of the ship.
