Quartier Européen / Rue de la Loi
The Résidence Palace is an apartment complex from the interwar period financed by Lucien Kaisin. It was one of the first apartment complexes in Brussels and was the symbol for the roaring twenties.
Arch. Michel Polak and Marcel Peeters
1922-27.
It is formed of three buildings, a press centre and a building currently being renovated and remodeled called "Europa" (estimated completion: 2016) for use by the European Council, mainly, and even also (for some occasions) by the Council of the European Union as a summit building. To the west lies the main Council building, called the Justus Lipsius.
