Punnany Massif is a Hungarian funk band founded in 2003. Its genre is self-defined as social-funk.[1][2]
History
The two founding members, Máté Felcser and Roland Farkas, first met in 1994. In 2003, at the request of FankaDeli, they were going to record a joint song with "Wolfie" for the Fankadeli album "Minden kincsem", and then a whole solo album.[3] After two months of working together, the professional relationship with FankaDeli was broken, but in the meantime it turned out that they could work so well together with "RendbenMan" that the two of them founded Punnany Massif.
Their first album was released in 2006, entitled Körkorkép, which contained 17 tracks. In 2009, the band's next single, entitled Hanyag elegancia, was released on the Stilispakk multi-producer compilation album. In 2010, the band celebrated the release of their second album, Shen Kick, with a record release in Pécs and a Budapest show. The new album featured a fine line-up of renowned contributors, including Eszter Takáts and the Gumizsuzsi band, Zoli Beck (30Y), Hungarian beatbox champion Defa and opera singer Máté Gál.
