A winged unicorn (alternatively called[citation needed] a horned pegasus, or the portmanteaus unipeg, unisus or pegacorn) is a merger of the concept of pegasus and unicorn. That is an equine/horse with a set of wings and a horn.
Examples of this concept in media are:
- 1940s: The British Airborne Units (1st Airborne Division etc) depict Bellerophon upon Pegasus as their coat of arms, but unlike classic art, they affix it with a horn.
- 1982: La Licorne Ailée (which translates to 'the winged unicorn') is a french organization that collects the works of François Brousse
- 1985: Swift Wind from She-Ra: Princess of Power
- 1992: Eachthighern from Dungeons and Dragons
- 1992 (October): Dazzleglow from My Little Pony Tales
- 1993: Ravan from The Ancestral Trail
- 1995 (March): Helios/Pegasus from Super S season of Sailor Moon
- 1995 (September): Sunstar from Princess Gwenevere and the Jewel Riders
- 1996: Kleo The Misfit Unicorn
- 1998: Yuniita from Flint the Time Detective
- 1999: Unimon from Digimon Adventure
- 2000: The Last Winged Unicorn from Dawn of Victory album (Manowar/Rhapsody of Fire)
