The editorial decision to make the possible SI case closure as "past tense" makes it sound awkward (it clearly will not be closed by Monday, September 26). Suggest a re-wording for that section? - Penwhale | dance in the air and follow his steps 03:04, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, you are right. I definitely made a mistake when I said it was closed. How embarrassing :/. Fixed. JORGENEV 03:43, 26 September 2011 (UTC)

It appears that ArbCom's fine-focus attention on culprits and "bad apples" causes an hortatory opportunity to be overlooked.
Nevertheless, I did not fail to understand the need for nuance and positive comments in this venue.
Please give some thought to the following:
Praise for Qwyrxian
- See Dispute resolution vocabulary, I recognized that "Qwyrxian's encouragment and support" was an essential part of his long-term mediation strategy. In February, Qwyrxian explained that "I'm trying to act like a mediator without actually being one"; and I underscored and encouraged this by repeating it more than once, including here
- My explicit choice of words mirrors the acknowledgment which Qwyrxian's long-term efforts have earned; but there were unintended and unanticipated consequences.
- See Real world factions, I explain
- See Vested toxic warriors, I state plainly that "Qwyrxian is here to build an encyclopedia, and I emphasize the point with a hyperlink here. This assessment is reiterated when I state that "Qwyrxian writes with the authority of a 'vested' contributor", which means that his personal investment in the success of our project is made explicit.
- See General discussion Prevention is better than cure, my approval is implicit when I agree withlike Oda Mari in thinking that Qwyrxian is "trying to be fair too much" which is not damning with faint praise. Rather it it recognizes a rare quality which needs positive feedback. This is re-stated in the same diff when I state "the best efforts of Qwyrxian as he tried to apply our rules and policies in a complex context ..."
Praise for Phoenix7777
- See Real world factions, I explain
- See Magog's proposed remedies Phoenix7777 is warned about edit warring, I acknowledge that the "check-off list at WP:Being here to build an encyclopedia helps us to recognize the edit history of Phoenix7777 for what it is," which means that his personal investment in the success of our project is made explicit. This is non-trivial. In other words, a closer inspection of his individual and cumulative diffs shows a commitment to the Wikipedia "long-game" which extends beyond the foreseeable future.
Praise for John Smith's
- See Questions to the parties @ John Smith's, I wrote:
- "You put your finger on a constructive, forward-looking point which is otherwise missing, unacknowledged -- 'sometimes prevention is better than cure.'
- "I always understood this to be a unifying theme in your cumulative diffs -- trying to prevent things from getting out of hand, trying to ameliorate, to mitigate the effects of a strategic jabs and pokes and hits which unfolded across months. I perceived your edits as tactical, but your words were informed by analysis which was a little different than mine."
- See Magog's proposed remedies John Smith's is warned about edit warring, I acknowledge that the "check-off list at WP:Being here to build an encyclopedia helps us to recognize the edit history of John Smith's for what it is," which means that his personal investment in the success of our project is made explicit. This is non-trivial. As with Phoenix7777-above, a closer inspection of his individual and cumulative diffs shows a commitment to the Wikipedia "long-game" which extends beyond the foreseeable future.
- See General discussion Prevention is better than cure, my approval is implicit when I endorse, repeat and adopt John Smith's observation here that "[s]ometimes prevention is better than cure".
Praise for Oda Mari
- See Magog's proposed remedies Oda Mari is cautioned about edit warring, I acknowledge that the "check-off list at WP:Being here to build an encyclopedia helps us to recognize the edit history of John Smith's for what it is," which means that his personal investment in the success of our project is made explicit. This is non-trivial. As with Phoenix7777 and John Smith's-above, a closer inspection of her individual and cumulative diffs shows a commitment to the Wikipedia "long-game" which extends beyond the foreseeable future.
- This is underscored in greater detail here:
- See General discussion Prevention is better than cure, my approval is implicit when I agree with Oda Mari in thinking that Qwyrxian is "trying to be fair too much". I endorse her nuanced judgment.
Praise for Magog the Ogre
- See Analysis of Evidence presented by Magog the Ogre, I explicitly mention the value and credibility of his judgment and experience
Please consider adding more green lines because of the information I have pulled together. --Tenmei (talk) 06:47, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
