Oranje Hotel
On looking for information about the "Oranje Hotel" an infamus prison in the dutch town of S'Gravenhage during WW2, I was rederected to the "Stamford House, Singapore" a building sometimes called "Oranje Building". A hotel is a building, but not all building are hotel's. To keep the information correct, it would be normal that this redirect is going to a page where all the options are mentioned. --Gesina11 (talk) 16:34, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
- It seems from the article that the building was later turned into a hotel called the Oranje Hotel. However, I think it is fine for you to go ahead and convert the redirect into a disambiguation page. — Cheers, JackLee –talk– 07:27, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
The Singaporean places wikiproject seems dead while not much activities seems to be happening here also..
Anybody interested to go over and help out? I am not active on sg articles but if we can fix a layout/template for sg places articles, I can help out in some of the articles. Xaiver0510 (talk) 13:49, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
- I don't really work on articles on places either, but what sort of layout or template are you thinking of? You may want to have a look at existing articles on places to see what has been done previously. — Cheers, JackLee –talk– 14:53, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
- More of a MOS template, like a general guide of what content / sections we like to have on the articles. A good example will be like Kallang, a half completed will look like Paya Lebar and Jalan Besar while Mount Vernon looks lacking. Tried looking at a similar wikiproject for places in New Zealand but not sure how to go to the pages under that project to have a reference. Actually it is fine to close the project also~! Xaiver0510 (talk) 00:52, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
- lol! I do not mind editing here and there but undecided to have a good layout and what sort of content are we looking at. We see how things go~! Xaiver0510 (talk) 15:03, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
Notability issue
Decided to lump under one section for easy discussion.
- Crystal Shong - Not sure is she is notable in the first place. Nominate for deletion?
- Joyce And The Boys - Notable enough?
- Eddie Chin
- I've never heard of any of these people. Then again, maybe I'm from the wrong generation. — Cheers, JackLee –talk– 16:25, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

It's currently under Good Article Review. Any help is appreciated. Also, if anyone can drive to Choa Chu Kang Cemetery and snap a photo of the SilkAir Flight 185 Memorial, it'd be most appreciated. It's, er, a little far from me to do so right now. :-) Newenehpets (talk) 09:00, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
Merge Suntec articles
Currently, Suntec City has three articles under its name: Suntec City, Suntec City Mall and Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre. They can be found listed under the Suntec disambiguation page. I'm sure some merging needs to be done, since they can't possibly be left separate. After all, they share a common topic. I've added the merge tags to all the three articles, just fyi. Any ideas or opinions? ANGCHENRUI Talk♨ 04:12, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
- Hmmm. While I see there advantage of merging the three articles since they are closely related (particularly since "Suntec City" is little more than a stub), "Suntec City Mall" is quite a long article on its own. However, if you want to go ahead and merge the articles I won't object. — Cheers, JackLee –talk– 16:24, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
- I realised the majority of the content on Suntec City Mall are bulleted lists. I think I will move the content to the Suntec City article, under a new section "Mall" (or "Shopping mall"). As for Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre, do you think I should park it under Suntec City - under a new section as well? I did some Googling, and all three had their own separate websites. Of course, perhaps the developers just wanted to differentiate them. It's still a "multi-use development" after all I suppose? ANGCHENRUI Talk♨ 07:25, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
- As regards the article on the Convention and Exhibition Centre, I think either way is fine. If you want to merge it into the main Suntec City article, I have no objections. — Cheers, JackLee –talk– 10:04, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
- I am fine with merging all 3 articles together, as mentioned, it is a "multi-use development" after all. If any "section" grows too big, we can take it out as a separate article for that "section" Xaiver0510 (talk) 05:35, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
- Done merging, but left with the realisation that the contents are problematic. I've tagged it with the relevant templates, as I don't have the time to clean it up at this point in time. Do help if you can. Regards, ANGCHENRUI Talk♨ 08:35, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

SYOGOC Youth Olympics photos
Hello SGpedians, I was wondering if someone can help regarding the ongoing 2010 Summer Youth Olympics. It may be a long shot, but worth asking. The Organising Committee publishes photos of various events at a Flickr photostream. These photographs are tagged with CC-BY-NC licenses. I would like to see whether it's possible for someone to contact them and ask if some can be released as CC-BY-SA so that they can be used in Wikipedia. The release should probably go through the OTRS system if successful. Considering it's the first ever Youth Olympics, and because the Organising Committee seems open to media coverage from around the world, there might be a chance this is possible. Thanks! —Arsonal (talk + contribs)— 04:42, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
