Hello, |
|||
I'm a member of Wikiproject Unreferenced BLP Rescue. I've been trying to find reliable sources for the article on H. M. Khoja which makes a case for him having some impact to education in Pakistan. There's stuff like schools, and a road named after him. But I can't find any articles written about him. Perhaps there are non-English sources. Could a member of Wikiproject Pakistan assist? You help would be greatly appreciated. -- Whpq (talk) 18:54, 8 September 2011 (UTC) |

Swabi District
Swabi District is in need of attention. It is continuously being edited with personal opinions, no sources, poor formatting, disregard for the Manual of Style/Layout guidelines. I just removed a phone number from one section and a random image of some random guy in another. I don't even know where to start and am not familiar with the subject. I was hoping that someone could take a look at it who is familiar with the subject, Wikipedia standards, and the English language.

There is a question, at that article, over his use of the name Clement, which seems to be used in some (not reliable) sources, but not in the more reliable recent sources. Can anyone here advise, on that article's talk page? Ghmyrtle (talk) 16:21, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
Qaimkhani
Qaimkhani is in need of serious work, and honestly I don't even know where to begin. Anon users are periodically adding content, but they all seem to have a terrible grasp of Wikitext. Anyone interested in taking on this mess? (I'm cross-posting this at WikiProject Rajasthan.) —INTRIGUEBLUE (talk|contribs) 10:13, 6 March 2011 (UTC)
- This has already been cleanup through auspices of WikiProject Rajasthan. AshLin (talk) 12:05, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
- I don't think anyone is alive at this noticeboard. There's a discussion going on the much wider topic of Pakistan-related topics at User talk:Jimbo Wales/Archive 73#Embarrassing btw. -- Ϫ 21:34, 17 March 2011 (UTC)

Focusing effort on highest-visibility yet worst-quality Pakistan articles?
As we've noted in past months/years, Pakistan articles have ongoing issues on unsourced content. Rather than get concerned (in the short-term) about articles on villages of 400 people with content like "people here are being very noble and proud, but many have migrated to YORKSHIRE, UK", we can instead focus on articles getting high visibility which have gaping flaws. Personally, before deciding what articles to buckle-down on I tend to use http://www.stats.grok.se to get some idea of monthly hit rates. If folks want to specifically point out an article of high visibility (perhaps 10K hits per month?) maybe a couple of us can team up and tackle that one, and then move on to another high-visibility article. Shakeel
The WP:BLP article on Shakeel could use some expert eyes for sourcing and content. I've been trying to source it, but have been having difficulty identifying which sources are reliable. Thanks! Dreadstar ☥ 18:57, 7 April 2011 (UTC)

Hi - this article is up for deletion because it appears to duplicate other articles without bringing anything new to the table. Please have a look and weigh in, Shiva, Lord Black Adder 05:49, 24 April 2011 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs - the final surge
Since early in 2010, many editors have assisted in the referencing or removal of over 90% of the Unreferenced Biographies of Living People, bringing the total down from over 50,000 to the current 4,862 (as of 16:10, 1 June 2011 (UTC)). Thank you for all of the work you've done to date, but we are now asking for your help in finishing this task. There are two main projects which are devoted to removing UBLPs from en.Wikipedia:
- WP:URBLP has set up a large number of topic based lists, which are updated each day by a WP:BOT. Your project's list is located at Wikipedia:WikiProject Pakistan/Unreferenced BLPs and currently contains 76 articles.
- WP:URBLPR is focusing on clearing out the backlog based on the month in which each article was tagged as being unreferenced. The current task is Category:Unreferenced BLPs from September 2009, and it is the last month remaining from 2009.
- You can also reference a random article or make your own lists using one of the catscan tools, such as this search for Pakistani musicians.
All you have to do is pick your articles and then add suitable references from reliable sources and remove the BLP unsourced template. There is no need to log your changes, register or remove the articles from the list. If you need any help, or have any comments, please ask at WP:URBLPR or WT:URBLP.
Thank you for any assistance you can provide. The-Pope (talk) 16:10, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

Hi there,
Would it be possible to get an organigram done for Pakistan Navy showing ships, bases commands, etc. There is something to start from on the PakNavy.gov.pk website.
Also, the air arm of the Navy created a UAV/drone squadron based out of PNS Mehran. There's a video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CB8QGRIdmX8&feature=player_embedded , but I don't speak any Urdu so don't know what's being said. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Methna7 (talk • contribs) 14:49, 20 July 2011 (UTC)
List articles: hospitals and schools
There are many such lists that read like a directory and contain few blue links. I don't know what to do with them. Suggestions? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 00:17, 22 July 2011 (UTC)
So called " Dominion of " Pakistan
The following is an extract from the Indian Independence Act 1947:
[Section]1.-(i) As from the fifteenth day of August, ninteen hundred and forty-seven, two independent Dominions shall be set up in India, to be known respectively as India and Pakistan.
The following is from the text of an important (self-explanatory) UN resolution from 1947:
"The General Assembly: Taking note of the applications for membership submitted to the United Nations by Pakistan and
Yemen, and of the recommendation of the Security Council that the Assembly admit Pakistan and Yemen to membership,Determines that Pakistan and Yemen are, in its judgement, peace-loving States, within the meaning of Article 4 of the Charter, and are able and willing to carry out their obligations under the Charter, and consequently, "Decides to admit Pakistan and Yemen as Members
of the United Nations."
The following are a sample (sample only) of the many treaties during the period that Pakistan was a Dominion. In none is Pakistan described as the "Dominion of Pakistan":
- [1];
- Exchange of notes constituting a visa agreement. Karachi, 16 August 1957; *AGREEMENT1 BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES AND THE GOVERNMENT OF PAKISTAN RELATING TO AIR SERVICES. SIGNED AT KARACHI, ON 16 JULY 1949;
- No. 2736. MUTUAL DEFENCE ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT1 BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF PAKISTAN AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. SIGNED AT KARACHI, ON 19 MAY 1954;
- No. 2472. AGREEMENT1 BETWEEN THE UNITED NATIONS AND THE GOVERNMENT OF PAKISTAN CONCERNING THE UNITED NATIONS REGIONAL TRAINING CENTRE IN RAILWAY OPERATIONS AND SIGNALLING AT LAHORE. SIGNED AT KARACHI,ON 25 JANUARY 1954
There is no dispute but that Pakistan was indeed a Dominion between 1947 and 1956. However, it is abundently clear that both its common name and its official name was never the "Dominion of Pakistan" although that term was used sometimes. Its official name during that period was simply Pakistan. Accordingly the article called "Dominion of Pakistan" should be moved to something more appropriate e.g. "Pakistan (Dominion)" and the article revised accordingly. I want to raise this here so as to (i) reach consensus as to the facts; and (ii) agree where the article should be moved. NelsonSudan (talk) 18:21, 28 July 2011 (UTC)'Italic text'
-Yes; you're quite right in this instance, although the term "Dominion of Pakistan" was in sporadic official use:
http://untreaty.un.org/unts/1_60000/2/12/00002575.pdf-here's a treaty between Pakistan and India, dated 30th of June 1948.In it, both India and Pakistan are referred to as "the Dominion of India" and the "Dominion of Pakistan" JWULTRABLIZZARD (talk) 11:20, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
