- I am running three editathons for staff at the University of Edinburgh Library on 3 July, 12 July and 2 August. There will be a number of new users at the events. I have previously run editathons and events for #1lib1ref over the last three years. Gweduni (talk) 09:15, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
- Not done @Gweduni: please post back towards the end of June and this can be added for your event. — xaosflux Talk 11:11, 22 May 2018 (UTC)

- I am requesting Event Coordinator rights for an Art+Feminism event taking place on June 2nd, 2018, at the TechKnow Lab at the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library. We have a [1]. Though this is a new account created specifically for this event, I am an experienced Wikipedian and teach computer courses for the public on a regular basis. - CultivateCinema, would you mind linking to your main account confirming this? If you plan on doing outreach regularly and are an experienced editor, we can grant permanently. TonyBallioni (talk) 19:41, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
- TonyBallioni, my current main account is Monk0nuggets. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CultivateCinema (talk • contribs) 19:46, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
- Done thanks. I've assigned for this event temporarily, and if you lead events in the future, you can request again then. TonyBallioni (talk) 20:03, 22 May 2018 (UTC)

- Reason for requesting event coordinator rights: I'm coordinating events all the time. The next big one will be this: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_for_Peace_Stockholm_Europride I rarely have to use account creator status at the events because we tell people to register beforehand but when someone forgot that it is very handy. I never misused my account creator status. As I've already organized countless events in Germany and internationally it would be great if you could just add me to the event coordinator user group....
But I highly dislike that this decision was made without any notification of the people that had account creator status before. And it seems that this decision is also highly discriminatory to people that don't primarily edit in the English wp but come from other countries and edit mostly in other language versions. I don't have much more time to write more now but I really don't like how this went down.--Sparrow (麻雀) 🐧 06:46, 23 May 2018 (UTC) Sparrow (麻雀) 🐧 06:46, 23 May 2018 (UTC)
