Revision as of 14:01, 12 May 2019
The following discussions are requested to have community-wide attention:
Should the following be deleted from Facebook?:
"On March 14, Huffington Post reported that Facebook’s PR agency had paid someone to tweak Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg’s Wikipedia page, as well as adding a page for the global head of PR, Caryn Marooney.[1] BC1278 (talk) 19:56, 11 May 2019 (UTC) |
Should we include both JOOL and jewel or just JOOL or just jewel for the pronunciation? QuackGuru (talk) 01:07, 9 May 2019 (UTC) |
Talk:Casualties of the Iraq War
Which of these two paragraphs should be in the lede (note that the sources are from the body and will not be in the lede). The non-bolded parts are identical in both versions whereas the bolded parts clarify the differences between the two versions: Snooganssnoogans (talk) 22:19, 8 May 2019 (UTC) |
Request for comment to help with article, which is currently at risk of becoming an edit war. Article is strongly biased and suggests that the individual is a prominent and influential scientist with wide community support. However individual is a fringe pseudoscientist that claims to have conversed with aliens. Supporters are regularly spamming other Wiki pages (see Bimetric gravity and Thibault Damour which borders on the defamatory and is completely inaccurate) and removing their valuable content. For example, a recent change to the page includes lots of misleading information: including that there has been a peer-reviewed paper from Petit that has answered critics (in Progress in Physics which is a crackpot journal), and claimed that various papers (by Bodarenko and others) were speaking positively of Petit's work (which they did not do, they just politely mention it!). This is misleading for actual scientists and young scientists that learn from Wikipedia. Most posts all come from a single user, which others have also complained about. Please help to find sensible balance on this article. Theoretical1A9 (talk) 20:32, 7 May 2019 (UTC) |
Should my edit be allowed (see discussion in previous section, #What do others think?). Eric Kvaalen (talk) 13:12, 1 May 2019 (UTC) |
Talk:List of the Mesozoic life of Wyoming
Our lists of prehistoric life by US state require a lot of images since most prehistoric life will be unfamiliar to most readers. I've been reformatting the way images are displayed on these articles using multiple image templates hoping to minimize visual clutter and distraction from the main text while maintaining an informative quantity of images. That being said, there are potential drawbacks. On the Cenozoic life of Washington state talk page @Kevmin: disagreed with the aforementioned approach, saying:
Since the recent changes proved controversial, I wanted to raise a discussion about the best way to display images in these articles. I moved the discussion here because this article was already completely redone in the newer style. Examples of previous styles can be found at:

Which of these three statements about Rigel's becoming a Type II supernova in the final paragraph of the Rigel section 'Physical characteristics' Paragraph 3 should be used: Arianewiki1 (talk) 05:08, 23 April 2019 (UTC) |
Should these two statements about Rigel's single/double/multiple star nomenclature be included in final paragraph of the Rigel section 'Nomenclature': Arianewiki1 (talk) 02:04, 23 April 2019 (UTC) |
