*'''Sarcastic Comment''' - It might make sense to split this portal into multiple portals for loosely related topics, but all of those portals would then themselves be candidates for deletion. So that would be busy-work. [[User:Robert McClenon|Robert McClenon]] ([[User talk:Robert McClenon|talk]]) 01:06, 30 March 2019 (UTC) |

*'''Weak keep''' – I genuinely came here intending to vote Delete but, when I actually bothered to read the page, I found an interesting portal which may encourage readers to explore Wikipedia further. This page is harmless and mildly useful. |

Portal:Bedding
- Portal:Bedding (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
Pointless portal giving only the first several paragraphs of Bedding and the first bits of four other pages including sex pillow (not what you might expect for the topic). This adds nothing to Bedding and is unlikely to attract much reader or editor interest. An X3 Legacypac (talk) 09:56, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
- Comment. One problem is this includes both bedclothes and wider parts of the bed that the article alleges are covered under 'bedding' in UK usage; as far as I can tell in UK usage the mattress is sometimes included but the bed frame would always be excluded (per Chambers & Oxford). This could potentially be fixed by moving the portal to the title Portal:Beds. There are ~80 articles under the category for bedding, though a random sample suggests many are stubs or otherwise unsuitable. I note that we already have the Portal:Sleep, so redirection or merge is another option. (Merge would work by starting a box within Portal:Sleep for types of beds/bedding including the code from this portal, with suitable attribution in the edit summary.) - There is only code here so there is absolutely nothing to merge. You might redirect which is pretty close to delete. You might expand the code at the other page, but you don't need anything from this page to expand the code anywhere else. Merge votes on automated portals are missing the point that these are not articles that someone wrote but code spammed at new titles over and over every 12 seconds. - Comment Portal:Beds and bedding would be a better title I think for the current scope and would avoid any cultural differences regarding where the separation is (as a British English speaker I would agree that "bedding" would sometimes include the mattress, depending on context, but never the bed frame). I'm on the fence about whether merging with Portal:Sleep would be good or not, merging with a Portal:Furniture is also something to consider. Thryduulf (talk) 10:51, 27 March 2019 (UTC)
- There is nothing to merge as discussed above and elsewhere. Voting to merge the same code on one page with the same code on another is illogical and disruptive. Bedding is not furniture and if bedding content was added to furniture I would MFD it as an illogical sloppy mismass of repackaged content. Portal:Sleep has it's own problems - a big collection of random stuff in an unfocussed topic, but adding bedding to that mess would definately make it worse. Legacypac (talk) 17:26, 27 March 2019 (UTC)
- Delete – Yet another narrow-focus portal created recently when creating portals has been fun and too easy. No reason to think that this one is needed. I agree with User:Legacypac that there is no point to merging or redirecting. Robert McClenon (talk) 01:06, 30 March 2019 (UTC)
