Many people will not have met this user, but any admin who works the speedy-deletion queue will know that, day after day, Mean as custard painstakingly filters the sludge that comes through the New Pages pipe and tags the spam for deletion. From the "cheap Louis Vuitton handbag" spambots to the "we have always out performed expectations and brought happiness to everyone" builders, the "top-notch public relations firm" that "specializes in diverse innovative management and marketing solutions" and the providers of "high quality gentle dental care in warm, friendly environment", Mean as custard has got their number. This is the sort of unglamorous behind-the-scenes work that gets little recognition but is essential to Wikipedia's survival.

For fighting the uphill battle for a constructive approach at building the sum of all human knowledge. Dream Focus recognizes that problems are solved by improvement, not by destruction. He is one of the few working and arguing to rescue the work of other editors at WP:ARS and WP:AFD. In a Wikipedia which seems more bent on shooting articles first and ask questions later and that is sadly driving new contributors away, people like Dream Focus deserve praise. And a gift .

Dr. Blofeld has always been a hard-working contributor to the encyclopedia. He has made 443,176 edits since 14 June 2006, and is an outstanding content contributor. He has 1000 DYKs— more than any other editor. With a mountain of GAs (74), along with a load of FAs, I can't see anything wrong with this user. Blofeld has made 91997 articles, almost triple the amount of any other non-bot editor, and more than any account.

Crisco has been doing amazing job. Along with 52K+ edits, he has 400 DYKs, 54 GAs, 11 FAs and 5 FLs. I think this sums up pretty well why he is an awesome editor. TheSpecialUser TSU 10:56, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

- Crisco is one of the users keeping DYK respectable. He's also one of those rare animals with great command of English (for a Canadian) and fluency in other languages which are underrepresented here. Most of the editors have been nominated above are admins. Dwaipayan(c) is not an admin. He has been editing since 2006. Very helpful editor and regularly offers help to new editors. He has some 24,000 edits. But, that does not show his contribution. User:Antanana (Ukrainian Wikipedia admin)
Nominated by: Tito Dutta (talk) 03:35, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
Why is this user awesome?
He is a Ukrainian Wikipedia admin. I do not know Ukrainian language or can not even read its alphabet. I have talked with him few times (generally requesting articles in Wikipedia Ukrainian). Firstly, I requested in a Ukrainian admin's talk page, did not get any reply. From there Antanana picked the request and helped me to get that article in Ukrainian Wikipedia. He is a perfectionist by nature. I asked to create an article on Nagarik, he told he wants to watch the film before writing on it. A Ukrainian is watching a Bengali film just to write a requested article, I could not believe that. I have seen (though I can not understand anything in his talk page) he is very helpful, polite to all users.

(I was only nominating those who had usernames which appeared to be their names (since the shirts have to be sent to "Real Life People" : )
But now that he's here...
There simply isn't enough space on this page to describe all the great good that User:Hiding has done to contribute to the project.
He started or significantly contributed to many of the policies that we all very much take for granted as "solid" policy.
He is a guiding force in the comics project, and was the main admin helping out there before many of the rest of us were admins. And on that subject, it's at the very least partly due to his guidance that many admins are admins. (He helped me, and subsequently co-nominated me, for instance.)
He is a prolific content contributor, and is who I liked to go to when I have a referencing question.
And even with all of this, he is good natured and a pleasure to collaborate with.
For these and many many other reasons, I think that Hiding is an incredibly awesome Wikipedian : ) - jc37 22:11, 20 November 2012 (UTC)

Why is this user awesome?
More easily referred to a "Q", Qwyrxian is not afraid to get involved in awkward disputes relating to a wide range of articles, from a certain problematic group of islands through to weird naming issues for schools in Sri Lanka and on to (top marks from me!) numerous caste-related articles. They are around almost daily, they pay attention to what others say in often heated situations, and their responses are invariably both considered and polite. Much of their work is in response to new contributors who are trying to run before they can walk and who often seem not to have English as their first language: Q's approach generally works pretty well. - Sitush (talk) 11:42, 23 November 2012 (UTC)

Besides being a sysop, oversighter, and checkuser, Ponyo has essentially taken on the highest load of work on the Unblock ticket request system. She keeps the new requests cleared so users have a prompt response from an administrator and has closed 1008 tickets at the time of this posting which means among a list of 79 registered administrators, she alone has pulled 1/5th of the total workflow since the system launched in March 2011. She is also a member of OTRS and I imagine she has done as much work there. Between OTRS and UTRS, Ponyo constantly deals with disgruntled folks and is the face of Wikipedia and our administrators to them. She definitely deserves at least a t-shirt.

This user is awesome because he not only helped organize WLM, but has been a very valuable new member of the Affiliations Committee, with his rational level-headedness keeping us on track and helping volunteers, while we were busy evolving from Chapcom into Affcom. BECAUSE HE IS.
But seriously, Matma Rex has been a wonderful force behind the scenes with MediaWiki, working a volunteer to improve general interface things and in particular move to clean up involved code, as well as helping immensely toward acclimating potential new contributors to the MediaWiki codebase - I know I probably would have gotten fed up and left had it not been for him, and he is always ready to help in #mediawiki with even the most basic questions.
He is also, it would seem, one of plwp's administrators who is happy to work behind the scenes on anything technical, be it abusefilter or debugging for the one person still using windows 98 and IE6 or whatever it was, and also explaining new changes and keeping the local populace from panicking - something that is always needed regardless of the project.
I wish I could say more, but this is all I've seen of him, though it has all been lovely.

Besides contributing masses of quality articles to the project (here's a handy list), Ruby is also an enthusiastic reviewer of other editors' work, a vital but thankless career path that keeps this place running nicely. Being a machine and all, she's turned out significantly more GA reviews than she has requested, which is no easy task. I'd say a t-shirt is in order at the vey least. Why is this user awesome? In addition to being a gracious host at Wiki Loves Libraries 2012, George Washington University and responding to a call for remote editathon participation, this longstanding contributor is as prolific as Andy Warhol when it comes to creating high quality articles. Not sure how he does it, but hats off to him!

Why is this user awesome? Tireless work on the incubator, the language committee. He made me feel more at home in Belgium when I moved to the country and it working on starting a local Wikimedia chapter.

- This civilized fellow is a mainstay of the Incubator and smaller languages communities, and quite personable as well, if you ever have the good fortune meet him at an event. Djembayz (talk) 15:03, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
