Evidence submitted by Fram
Checkuser is necessary because there is clear some kind of harassment against User:Deepsix66, but it is unclear whether this is sockpuppetry or meatpuppetry (probably both), and who should be blocked as socks and who warned for meatpuppetry. This all revolves around Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Emily Schooley, for which most of the above created an account and voted keep. Misssinformative was created on 19 February 2009. Frnnrthprd was created on 30 March 2010, and its first two edits, that same day, were to User:Misssinformative/Emily Schooley. Users created on 15 october include GL-Pursuit (15:55), Drivenhome (15:05), Mariskov (16:08), Killashandra30 (16:38), Chaulis1 (17:11) and EmilySchooley (23:36). Bytemeh was created on 23 October. Edfan77 was created on 1 November.
Editing overlap:
- Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Emily Schooley was edited by most of the above.
- Missinformative, Frnnrthprd, 206.248.178.35, 69.196.139.25, 69.165.129.158 and EmilySchooley all edited User:Misssinformative/Emily Schooley
- 206.248.178.35 and 69.165.129.158 voted to delete Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Frozen North Productions, an article which User:Deepsix66 wanted to keep
- Frnnrthprd created Frozen North Productions: this was also edited by 206.248.178.35, 206.248.165.158, 69.165.129.158, 69.196.188.217 and Frnnrthsx
- Flip's Twisted World was edited by 206.248.130.44, 206.248.165.158 and 206.248.178.35, Bytemeh, Misssinformative, Frnnrthsx and Frnnrthprd
- Misssinformative created Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Deepsix66/Archive, where she linked Frnnrthprd to Deepsix66. This seems dubious, and fits in the harassment of these editors towards Deepsix66.
- User talk:Deepsix66 has been edited by 206.248.178.35, Chaulis1, Frnnrthprd, EmilySchooley, 206.248.165.158, Frnnrthsx, Bytemeh, and 69.196.162.20, plus a number of dubious IP adresses
- Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Flip's Twisted World has been edited by 69.165.146.178 and 206.248.130.44
- Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2010 October 23, the first DRV for Emily Schooley, was started by Misssinformative
- Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2010 October 25, the second DRV for Emily Schooley, was started by Bytemeh and he was supported by 69.196.188.217 an Edfan77.
- Futurecon was created by Bytemeh, and edited by Edfan77 and 206.248.130.44
- Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Futurecon was edited by Edfan77
- Edfan77 also edited, as his only edit outside this pattern, Ed the Sock, an article about a sockpuppet. Trying to be to clever?
- Wikipedia:Wikiquette alerts#Deepsix66, where I noticed this mess, has been started by Bytemeh and supported by Edfan77. Fram (talk) 10:40, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
(Later addition): Apparently a number of these accounts were checked in Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/GL-Pursuit/Archive, which I wasn't aware about. My current request lists more users and IPS, and more recent edits, so it is obviously not identical, but the previous case is obviously relevant material. Like I said below, certainly Edfan77 / Bytemeh are worth checking out, and those weren't included in the previous checkuser, and neither were Misssinformation and Emily Schooley. Fram (talk) 12:36, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
Furthermore, Frnnrthsx was clearly an attempt to imitate Frnnrthprd, and was an account solely for harassing a user and vandalizing articles from opponents. If that account is linked to any of the other named accounts, it is sockpuppeting of the worst kind, creating an account not only to suport your position but also to attack others. While Frnnrthsx is blocked, whoever is behind it is probably still around. Fram (talk) 12:43, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
Comments by accused parties
See Defending yourself against claims.
Not sure why you think I am a sock puppet, but whatever turns your crank I guess. I have a dynamic IP with a popular ISP in Toronto, and use a popular browser. You can either take me at my word, or if my contributions are no longer welcome here and you all want to be partisan and support the cyber-bullying of a talented artist, that is fine by me. I will not waste my time here anymore. Don't need to fight with angry nerds on the internet. Bytemeh (talk) 05:01, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
Comments by other users
- Comment I raised this issue before for several of these users. Practically impossibly, they were determined not meat/sock puppets per technical evidence... (see archive here. Also, the users listed here - if examining the situation - are people on BOTH sides of an argument. It is unlikely that they are all puppets of the same user, however VERY likely that two different parties (Emily Schooley and Frozen North Productions) both resorted to meat/sock puppetry to try and win their fight. -Addionne (talk) 12:24, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
- You're right, I was wrong in including Frnnrthprd, as that one represents the other side of the problem (together with Deepsix66). The others all seem related to me (at least the IPs are all from the same region, Ontario in Canada), and Edfan77 obviously is someone's sock, but it is hard to be sure which of the listed users, assuming there is more than one, to blame for this without checkuser. I have no stake in this fight, and have no problem with a checkuser on the other side as well. Fram (talk) 12:32, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
- Comment I'd like to suggest that Frnnrthprd is indeed a sock puppet of Misssinformative/EmilySchooley/Bytemeh etc etc. As per her own blog, Schooley was handling many promotional duties for the company, so it's entirely feasible that she created their account/initial Wikipedia page before the relationship went sour. Since then, she made posts defaming herself under their account to implicate them (including making a post on my own talk page stating "Emily's going down!"), something that a company that has remained mum on the situation everywhere else on the Internet would be unlikely to do. Clearly my nomination for deletion coincided with her firing from the Frozen North game, so she saw this as an opportunity to get back them and repeatedly insist publicly that I am associated with them. And no, I'm not affiliated with the company in any way. I do live in Ontario but that's a coincidence. I was already the subject of an inconclusive sock puppet investigation and have not posted as a guest or under any other account during my time here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Deepsix66 (talk • contribs) 17:49, 5 November 2010 (UTC) This template must be substituted.
- Comment I am not an Ontario resident at this time. Your technical logs should show my IP as New York City Metro (possibly two locations, mu work and home). I know Emily both personally and professionally and have been viewing her screenings and shows for almost 10 years. I find it highly coincidental that Deepsix66 would posit he is not affiliated with either group yet magically found his way to a backwater deletion request regarding a very niche issue. Regardless..Mariskov (talk) 18:57, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
- Comment The spurious manner in which I have been treated since joining the Wiki editorial side has been a real eye opener (I have posted in other areas of the site, not just this dispute). You're shoddy treatment of new members (who obviously have some reason they would want to edit an article to get initiated into this site) is bound to discourage new users.Mariskov (talk) 18:56, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
