#Moral Support - Good editor and accomplished vandal-fighter, and I would encourage him to submit a second RfA in a couple of months' time (which I will definitely support). His civil responses to the opposers below also show that he has the right kind of character to make a good admin. However, he doesn't have enough experience yet in admin areas (as noted by opposers below), and q1 doesn't show a clear understanding of admin tasks. I am pleased to see that he has applied for admin coaching. WaltonOne 20:06, 17 April 2008 (UTC) |

#Support Sure. Read the new-admin handbook and I probably wouldn't block/delete/protect anything until you feel confident in your knowledge (but you don't seem like the type that would do that, anyway). Maybe take some time to watch what other, more experienced, admins are doing. Also, you're doing an excellent job being civil, polite, and demonstrating a commitment to the project. Keep up the excellent work, keep contributing, and continue the positive attitude! I'm sure you'll be a fine administrator.Lazulilasher (talk) 20:09, 17 April 2008 (UTC) |

(talk page) (0/4/0); Scheduled to end 18:15, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
Cyclonenim (talk · contribs) - I'm a comparatively new user as I've been registered since 2006, however, I only became truly 'active' in December 2007. Most of my work here at Wikipedia has been towards the WikiProject Medicine, although I’ve contributed to several other WikiProjects and unrelated articles. Other than article creation/editing/reviewing, my work consists of reverting vandalism using several tools, mostly Vandal Fighter and Twinkle (and as such has allowed me to gain experience of using rollbacks). With slightly over 1000+ contributions to Wikipedia, I’m well aware of the chance of this self-nomination failing like many others; however, the chance of it succeeding and me being able to further help Wikipedia makes it seem all that much more worthwhile. Whichever way the RfA goes, I hope this will turn out to be a rewarding experience, both for me and other prospective candidates. CycloneNimrodtalk? 18:33, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
Questions for the candidate
Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. It is recommended that you answer these optional questions to provide guidance for participants:
- 1. What admin work do you intend to take part in?
- A: First and foremost, I wish to continue contributing to articles, both for WikiProject Medicine, amongst other articles. Secondly, I wish to continue my work in anti-vandalism and help secure and stabilise articles from such events as edit wars and other such disputes. Given the time and opportunity I'd also enjoy getting involved in the images side of Wikipedia, to help me gain more 'all-round' experience. Another area of interest would be developing/contributing to guidelines and policies.
- 2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
- A: My best contributions are most likely those which i've spent the most time on, of which include Mucormycosis and Sézary's disease. I've also enjoyed participating in the WikiProject Medicine Collaboration of the Week on a regular basis. Many of my contributions are still ongoing, I like to get things just right before leaving them entirely.
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: I think anyone here on Wikipedia would say they've experienced less pleasant users than others during their time, and i'm not exception. I've dealt with stress towards other users by simply checking over what i'm saying before I save the page as this enables me to remove anything that I may deem overly harsh. I avoid getting into disputes and edit wars by ensuring after the second reversion of an article/talk page, the dispute is solved at an individual users talk page, not on the article/talk page in question. This allows for things to be dealt with in an overall more professional manner. Secondly, I'm aided by fellow editors with their opinions on the matter.

Oppose
- Oppose - I hate to be the first, but pursuing your contributions, there really is a paucity of admin-related areas you've actively participated in. You're a good editor though, and hey, we have similar topical interests. However, I think just a few more months of WP:CSD, WP:HD, WP:AIV, WP:ANI, WP:RFPP participation etc..etc.. would benefit you. Try WP:ADMINCOACH too. Cheers matey. Wisdom89 (T / C) 18:50, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- comment - Also, one other thing - you may want to set your preference so that the Wiki interface asks you to include an edit summary. This is usually a minor thing, but, coupled with the lack of experience, it's a little more valuable/essential. Edit summaries are good for communication and they allow thing to run a little more smoothly. Wisdom89 (T / C) 18:52, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your speedy reply and advice, I certainly understand your reasons for opposing my RfA and I hope that, given a few months, you will find me ready for progression. I'll be applying for Admin Coaching soon, too! Regards, CycloneNimrodtalk? 18:55, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- You are certainly welcome. It's a good sign that you remain positive in the face of some opposition, that's an absolute credit to you. Might I suggest that you also, down the road, get a couple of editor reviews. It's a nice way to get some community feedback on your work. A excellent way for user's to judge your policy knowledge is offering advice at the help desk and new contributors help desk. Wisdom89 (T / C) 19:11, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

- Oppose Sorry, but you don't have enough editing experience yet. ArcAngel (talk) 18:51, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your participating in my RfA. It's a shame to hear, but I understand. Thanks again, CycloneNimrodtalk? 18:58, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

- Oppose Obviously on the right track. User has taken an interest (albeit small) in contributing to things like AIV, 3RR, etc. Just needs more overall experience. Tool2Die4 (talk) 19:46, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- I'm glad you think that way. Thanks for your interest. CycloneNimrodtalk? 19:57, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- Oppose - If you are now seeking admin coaching, i suggest withdrawing from this RfA. Hope to see you back here in a few months :-) TheProf - T / C 20:08, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
