::::::::{{xt|I have more Wikipedia editing experience than all but very few people.}} then why make so many mistakes? :::::Ffs I'm with Katie. There's a reason I usually don't touch this page with a ten foot pole. Just thought I'd let y'all know that the image ''is'' protected. With that, I'm out. ::::::FFS, you and Katie need to grow a pair, neither of you have added constructively here, although at least Katie made some minor adjustments. If you actually want to do the job of an admin, do it, don't complain about it. By the way, the caption for the image includes "(Boutrosiya)" which is redundant. Revision as of 22:17, 13 December 2016
To report an error in content currently or imminently on the Main Page, use the appropriate section below.
- Where is the error? An exact quotation of the text in question helps.
- Offer a correction if possible.
- References are helpful, especially when reporting an obscure factual or grammatical error.
- Time zones. The Main Page runs on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC, currently 01:48 on 10 May 2024) and is not adjusted to your local time zone.
- Can you resolve the problem yourself? If the error lies primarily in the content of an article linked from the Main Page, fix the problem there before reporting it here. Text on the Main Page generally defers to the articles with bolded links. Upcoming content on the Main Page is usually only protected from editing beginning 24 hours before its scheduled appearance. Before that period, you can be bold and fix any issues yourself.
- Do not use {{edit fully-protected}} on this page, which will not get a faster response. It is unnecessary, because this page is not protected, and causes display problems, because this is not a talk page. (See the bottom of this revision for an example.)
- No chit-chat. Lengthy discussions should be moved to a suitable location elsewhere, such as the talk page of the relevant article or project.
- Respect other editors. Another user wrote the text you want changed, or reported an issue they see in something you wrote. Everyone's goal should be producing the best Main Page possible. The compressed time frame of the Main Page means sometimes action must be taken before there has been time for everyone to comment. Be civil to fellow users.
- Reports are removed when resolved. Once an error has been addressed, determined not to be an error, or the item has rotated off the Main Page, the report will be removed from this page. Check the revision history for a record of any discussion or action taken; no archives are kept.

The bombing occurred near Saint Mark's Cathedral (not "at" the cathedral itself). The title was moved to Botroseya Church bombing, which is a smaller church attached to the cathedral, so kindly fix that as well. Fitzcarmalan (talk) 19:36, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
- And you may want to replace the image with this one. Fitzcarmalan (talk) 19:38, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
- Not done Since the text says Saint Mark's is pictured, we want to stick with the picture of Saint Mark's. Katietalk 21:05, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
- We never usually say something as nebulous as "... and injures many others...." so that needs fixing too. The Rambling Man (talk) 21:03, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
Another case of an admin without the full briefing: please italicise "(pictured)" in the recently "updated" Cairo blurb. Jeez, you guys need to sort your shit out. The Rambling Man (talk) 21:31, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
- Welp. I tried. Nice. Way to chase your new helpers off. Katietalk 21:40, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
- Well, way to read the history of the page. This isn't anything to do with your edits. But I suppose if you're that sensitive, this isn't the place. Another "admin" edited the blurb and fucked it up again after you. Don't get all over the top about it. The Rambling Man (talk) 21:42, 13 December 2016 (UTC)

- Pinging Michael Hardy just in case he doesn't have this page on his watchlist (HILARIOUS [in joke, forget it]). The Rambling Man (talk) 21:33, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
I was not aware of this present page. I edited the template stating which building was bombed and inserted its image. Michael Hardy (talk) 21:42, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
- . . . and now someone's reverted "until the picture is protected". I was going to protect it when I edited the template; then I noticed that I don't appear to have access to the "Protect" button at Commons. I've requested protection, so does anyone have any guesses as to how long that will take? Michael Hardy (talk) 21:46, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
- Exactly my point. You, an admin, edited the main page without an awareness of how to do it properly. If you don't know what you're doing, (a) don't do it and (b) don't use admin tools until you do know what you're doing. Maintaining the main page is a complex business and not one suited to drive-by so-called admins. If you were commensurate with how to update the main page, you wouldn't have risked hardcore porn being substituted for the image you personally selected for the main page without any kind of protection. Please read the admin instructions at ITN before ever trying to do anything like that again. "I was not aware of this present page." REALLY??! The Rambling Man (talk) 21:51, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Michael Hardy and The Rambling Man: Er...the picture is already protected, so I don't know what you're going on about. Ks0stm (T•C•G•E) 21:52, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
