The Volkswagen Talagon (Chinese: 大众揽境; pinyin: Dàzhòng lǎn jìng) is a three-row full-size crossover SUV manufactured by the German automaker Volkswagen through the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture in China since 2021. The Talagon is the largest SUV ever produced by Volkswagen, and the largest vehicle built with Volkswagen Group MQB platform.
Overview
The Talagon was previewed in a near-production concept vehicle called the SMV in April 2019.[1] The production version was unveiled at Auto Shanghai in April 2021.[2] The vehicle is based on the modular MQB platform in its most stretched configuration.[3] Considered as a sister model to the Teramont/Atlas, it is slightly larger by around 110 mm (4.3 in) in length and 12 mm (0.5 in) in width.[4]
Powertrain
The vehicle is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that can produce 186 PS (183 hp; 137 kW) and 220 PS (217 hp; 162 kW), which are labeled '330 TSI' and '380 TSI' respectively. All configurations are paired with a wet 7-speed DSG transmission.[5]
