"Vilaiyaadu Mankatha" (Tamil: விளையாடு மங்காத்தா) is a song by Indian artist and film composer Yuvan Shankar Raja. Though being a single track, it is the part of the soundtrack album to Mankatha.[1] The song predominantly features lyrics penned by Gangai Amaren, while Sucharitha and Yuvan Shankar Raja have also penned lyrics in Hindi and English, respectively. The song features vocals of Ranjith, Premgi Amaren, Sucharitha, Anitha and Yuvan Shankar Raja, while it is also Yuvan's second ever single track after the success "Evandi Unna Pethan" from Vaanam. The single track of Mankatha is expected to release on 20 May, 2011.[2]
Background
"Vilaiyaadu Mankatha" song was planned to be released as a single track separately ahead of the complete soundtrack album. A teaser featuring the song, was released on Ajith Kumar's birthday, on May 1, 2011 on YouTube,[3][4] after plans of releasing the film or the soundtrack on that day had failed.[5] The teaser garnered high response, with the song being planned to be released as a single track.[6][7] Prior, to the release of the single track Yuvan Shankar Raja, on twitter, stated that the single track is hot.[8]

Release
Director Venkat Prabhu was determined to launch the soundtrack in an innovative way, so he revealed that, he would just release one song in the digital medium, so that it can be used for ring tones and caller tunes.[9] The film, which is also Ajith Kumar's 50th film, has a single track special edition CD with the song "Vilaiyaadu Mankatha", which has the poster and autograph of his own on the CD cover.[10] Yuvan Shankar Raja had handed over the Master recording on May 11, 2011,[11] while the single track of Mankatha is expected to release on 20 May, 2011.
