Vandalism on 2019–20 Ottawa Senators season
I saw your note on User talk:Lectonar and wanted to let you know that I've (most likely) blocked the individual responsible from editing for 6 months. The technical explanation is that all the different IPs are part of a IPv6 /64 range. The 2607:FEA8:E2DF:F428:: bit is reasonably static, but the other parts are very dynamic (User:TonyBallioni/Just block the /64 is a good explanation). You can see all the edits from this individual at Special:Contributions/2607:FEA8:E2DF:F428::/64. Don't hesitate to drop me a note on my talkpage if you spot similar activity at other pages.
In addition, I assigned you two userrights that I think you will find useful. The first is rollback, which is used to quickly revert obvious vandalism. The second is the pending changes reviewer right, which marks all your edits as "reviewed" on pages with pending changes, and also allows you mark other edits as "reviewed". Let me know if you don't want these userrights, and I can remove them. Maxim(talk) 19:10, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
- @Maxim: Thank you so much. I appreciate. As for the new userrights that you have given me, I will find these very useful to me in the future. Thank you. Yowashi (talk) 19:58, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
- @Maxim: I think 2607:FEA8:E2DF:F428::/64 might be editing 2019–20 Ottawa Senators season under the user Ock50. I have a feeling that it is the same person editing under different accounts because both accounts have very similar editing patterns. 2607:FEA8:E2DF:F428::/64 would make multiple edits to the article in one day. They would edit the infobox, the regular season game log, and the statistics sections. Looking back at Ock50's contributions from 2017, they would edit exactly the same way on the 2016–17 Ottawa Senators season and 2017–18 Ottawa Senators season articles. Another thing that really sticks out, is when the IP user updated the regular season game log, they would always leave the attendance and recap figures blank. Here is an example of that. This is the same case with Ock50, back in 2017 with this edit. Another thing that I noticed, is that both accounts edit the Senators articles immediately after a Senators game is finished. I can tell by looking at the time stamps of when they published their edits, and by looking at the NHL game summaries. Ock50 was inactive for more than two years, and they didn't start editing until Jan. 14. It seems odd that Ock50 has randomly started editing again now that the IP is blocked. I think it's the same person using multiple accounts. But, I don't know if this is considered sock puppetry. Yowashi (talk) 01:30, 19 January 2020 (UTC)
- Yowashi, thanks for point this out, I'll definitely look into it. Maxim(talk) 02:51, 19 January 2020 (UTC)

It's happening again
@Maxim: I'm reviving this discussion because the same issues that occurred a year ago are happening again with the same editor, this time on the 2020–21 Ottawa Senators season page. The editor is too impatient to wait for reliable sources to update, so that they can add the information from the sources on to Wikipedia. Instead, the editor has been adding content based from their own calculations, or from an unreliable source. This has resulted in numerous errors that I, and other editors have had to fix. Here are a few examples of the corrections so far, [1], [2], [3]. The IP even had to go back to fix their own mistakes [4]. Is it possible to get a page protection for the article? Or would another block on the IP be easier? The editor also has been using this IP as well, which they used most recently on Jan. 27. Yowashi (talk) 06:09, 31 January 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Yowashi, sorry for dropping the ball here. I go through a lot of arbcom-related matters on- and off-wiki and your query slipped through the cracks. I blocked both /64 and the IPv4 IPs for block evasion. If you see similar behaviour again - I doubt it would in the next 6 months because it looks like the IP and the range should be stable for some time - let me know and I'll try to not drop the ball again. :-) Maxim(talk) 13:33, 15 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Maxim: Hey Maxim, it appears that 2607:FEA8:E2DF:94DC:0:0:0:0/64 is still not using reliable sources and is still making errors when updating player stats over at 2021–22 Ottawa Senators season. I have been comparing the editor's work to what is listed on NHL.com, and I have been recording the discrepancies that I have noticed, which I will list below.
As of Oct. 25
* Shane Pinto should have 2 PIM, currently 0 on the team's article.
* Anton Forsberg's TOI and GAA is listed as 137:28 and 4.80, editor put in 133:12 and 4.96. – Yowashi (talk) 15:00, 26 October 2021 (UTC)- I blocked the IP range for a year on the grounds of disruptive editing. Even though it's a reasonable stable range, I don't feel comfortable blocking for longer than that, so there's a chance we may have to repeat this exercise next year. Sorry about the revert. Been trying to beat back a mobile editor who keeps adding diacritics. GoodDay (talk) 16:59, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
- @GoodDay: No worries man. Might want to check 2020–21 Minnesota Wild season. An editor has been adding diacritics to Kaapo Kahkonen. Didn't bother reverting since I didn't want to get into a stupid edit war, and I didn't know about WP:NCIH until 2 days ago, so I couldn't explain to the editor why. 2021 attendance
I noticed some of your updates to the game log for the Florida Panthers included an attendance number but I didn't see one reported in the game report. Not that I'm saying you're wrong! I'm just puzzled because I'm watching the Lightning-Predators game tonight and there are clearly fans in the arena tonight. It seems the Preds have been allowing a small number of fans at least recently but there wasn't an attendance figure reported in last night's game summary either. Is there a source you're getting numbers from? Tampabay721 (talk) 03:36, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
- Tampabay721 The game summary for the Florida/Nashville game on Feb. 5 did have the attendance there earlier when I edited that day, seems to be gone now though. I have been looking endlessly for sources that have the attendance for teams that are allowing fans. I have seen articles stating that the Preds have started allowing fans, but the league hasn't been giving any numbers for the game summaries. The Blues also started allowing fans (up to 1,400) last week, but the game summaries are still not showing anything. However, in the game recap for the Blues/Coyotes game from Feb. 2, the article did state that 1,400 fans were in attendance. In the following games I've been using em dashes to fill in the attendance column for the Blues because I haven't been able to find anything that has an exact number. Yowashi (talk) 04:04, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
- I've been putting "Held without fans" for the Lightning as opposed to a single 0 just because I think it looks better in terms of optics, but I might have to put "Not reported" for these last two games for them. I would have thought it would get reported in the Tennessean or by the paper's beat writer for the Preds on Twitter but maybe he's not being told either. 2020–21 Calgary Flames season
If you need to fix up the schedule after my edits do whatever is necessary. I've added the updated game dates (figured that you could use some help tonight). Deadman137 (talk) 01:51, 11 April 2021 (UTC)
- @Deadman137: Everything looks good. Thank you so much for doing that. I've been stressed out these past few months from all the editing, and I dislike having to revise the schedules because it always takes me forever. Your help is much appreciated. Yowashi (talk) 01:58, 11 April 2021 (UTC)
- I updated the Vancouver article after today's announcement. I have some down time between now and the playoffs so if you need help with moving games around let me know where you need help (ping me here or leave a message on my talk page) and I'll do what I can. Deadman137 (talk) 02:23, 17 April 2021 (UTC)
- @Deadman137: Thanks for the help, appreciate it. I'm gonna make some tweaks, because there were games that got postponed, and then moved to another date again. So, I'll just add the rescheduled dates on the originally scheduled games, that way the greyed out rows can be reduced. I'll let you know if I need help. Yowashi (talk) 02:56, 17 April 2021 (UTC)

Stanley Cup 2021 playoffs
Sorry about that. I’m checking the NHL scores on my phone, and it was reverting from 35 shots taken, to 34, and eventually to 33. My bad. Mastergerwe97 (talk) 03:51, 20 May 2021 (UTC)

NHL attendance figures
I don't know why the Nashville Predators suddenly began to report attendance figures for their home games. They never did that during the regular season. Why is that so? LSGH (talk) (contributions) 09:59, 22 May 2021 (UTC)
- @LSGH: I am responding to youur message that you left on Yosemiter's page. The attendance figures take a few minutes after the games to show up on the gamesheet. Sometimes it will already be reported during the game, but most of the time, it will show up a few minutes after a game. At the time that you published your edits, it wasn't reported yet. In my personal opinion, I like making complete edits, that way I don't have to go and add minor things later on and make multiple edits. That's just my personal preference though. Yowashi (talk) 16:06, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
- @LSGH: I'll admit that I could/should have just added the attendance in instead of reverting you, and to be honest, I don't have a legitmate reason as to why I did that. It was just something that I did without thinking beforehand. As to why I edited the Avs and Blues pages the way I did, it was because it was a series clinching game (resulting in higher page views). Since the attendance figure was not present at the time the game had ended, I wanted to get my edits in before any inexperienced editors made low-quality edits that I would have to fix. On any other occasion, I'll do my best to limit myself to one edit. Yowashi (talk) 04:27, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
Vegas Golden Knights schedule
Sorry about that messy schedule, I was in the middle of working on it at the time but I didn't have time to finish it. I was gonna go back and fix it and I didn't want to have to redo the whole thing over again. Xolkan (talk) 04:27, 13 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Xolkan: No worries. Just use the sandbox next time if you're planning on revisiting unfinished work instead of publishing it on the actual article. Yowashi (talk) 04:37, 13 October 2021 (UTC)
Seattle Kraken
May I please be a part of filling in the game log for the Kraken please? I’ve gotten better at adding information with the fewest amount of edits. Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 00:46, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
- @GoWarriors151718: Well, my plan for this season was to focus primarily on Vancouver and Seattle's pages. In saying that, I would like to be able to edit the page as well. I would prefer if we could alternate each game instead of your proposed idea. Although there is no limit on how many edits you can make, it's quite unnecessary to make four or five edits to the page just for one game. You don't need to make numerous edits to add the score, goalie, attendance, recap, etc. If you have to make that many edits in one day, then perhaps you shouldn't be editing. It should only be like two edits at the most. Yowashi (talk) 01:22, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
- I know. I got better at it. That is what I said earlier. And forget it. Clearly we just can’t work together. Thanks anyway. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 02:15, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
