I'm discussing with ArbCom about me getting resyropped, but with heavy restrictions. I can't handle RFA, that's my weak spot, look at my prior history with them. There was a personal attack in there that really hit my nerve, if I can't get the tools back from ArbCom then I don't know what to do. I bought so many book sources to work on articles but I just don't want to go though RFA ever again. Notability of musical artists
I'd say it was stretching it a little to claim 'releasing' two songs a week on Youtube over a two month span was an assertion of notability. Catfish Jim and the soapdish (talk) 10:04, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- You have a point; but perhaps the author did not mention that the two releases per week were on YouTube... And the claim was not just a claim of releasing two songs per week, but that the same placed him as "one of the most consistent artist in the city". Irrespective of that, I'm on your side with respect to understanding the page does not belong to Wikipedia, unless the author proves notability. Hi Wifione! Don't forget that there's not only the US east and west coast time zones, there's the whole of Europe and the rest of the world out there! - with plenty of Wikipedians :). Best, --Kudpung (talk) 03:02, 18 September 2010 (UTC)

AFD closures
I'm going to sound very hypocritical saying this, as I have done exactly this in times past. You seem to be closing a number of AFDs before the 7 day time limit is up (1, 2). Could you try to avoid doing this in the future please? Thanks, NW (Talk) 17:01, 18 September 2010 (UTC)
- There! I make so many mistakes to get your attention and phew, finally you decide to take notice :):) Ok; jokes apart, my apologies. I think I'm messing up the AfDs. If you could guide me on this, it'll be wonderful. I only close those AfDs that are listed on the "Articles (in closing)" log pages for closing (something like this). I have noticed
almost all othersome other administrators and bureaucrats following a similar pattern of closing only those AfDs that are listed on this log page. For example, Cirt closed this and this today, even though the technical equivalent of 7 full days x 24 hours had not yet expired. I have therefore been led to believe that this is the appropriate method of looking at AfDs to close. Do kindly guide me on whether this is appropriate or not? I'll wait for your reply before moving on in the AfD bit. Thanks and regards. Wifione ....... Leave a message 14:08, 20 September 2010 (UTC)- (talk page stalker) There's a related (general) discussion on AfD closures at WP:AN. Interestingly, Cirt owns up to closing AfDs early ;-) I think this (closing AfDs) is a fairly common occurrence, and one that the community probably hasn't paid too much attention to until recently. The good news is that there seems to be an effort underway to refine the AfD template, so that it clearly indicates whether the AfD is ready for closure. TFOWR 14:16, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
- Thank god; there's a whole bunch that seems to be making my mistake. Yahoo!!! Everybody loses adminship together.:):) Wifione ....... Leave a message 14:48, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

- FWIW, if it is the 7th day of the AfD (but not actually 7x24 hours since it opened), I'd generally only close it if it's pretty unanimously "delete" or "keep" - if it's more mixed, then I'll normally leave it until the 7x24 hours are up! -- PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 15:03, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
- I think that's pretty sensible... Unfortunately, I'm confused on this still; I'll follow the discussions on the link that TFOWR's given. Wifione ....... Leave a message 15:32, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

Disclaimer: It's very rare for me to send messages like this; it might seem frivolous or hypocritical, as I often complain about myspacing of the project. However, as a pastafarian, this is my equivalent of a Christmas greeting. I seriously believe we need to have fun sometimes. If you object, I apologize; let me know, and I won't bother you again. |

Hi, as it has been immediately recreated at least once and has been the victim of a sockfarm, perhaps salting is a good idea? Off2riorob (talk) 15:17, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
- Hi Off2riorob :) First of all, it's good to see you here (btw, never got a chance to thank you for your work on that Senator's article which came up from the BLP noticeboard). Ok, with respect to this blp, presumably it's not an attack blp. It was A7'd (and deleted); recreated and later given the same treatment at AfD. If you think it's all right, let's wait. If it's recreated, I'll keep a watch and salt it then. What say? Wifione ....... Leave a message 15:29, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

It is a real thing that we do here. (RenoHuskerDu (talk) 18:46, 21 September 2010 (UTC))
- Hi Reno, I'm sure it must be a real and interesting thing you do out there. Could you kindly read Wikipedia's policy on why and how every proposed article on Wikipedia should qualify on what we call notability? In other words, articles need to have verifiable information, using reliable sources that prove that there is merit for the topic to be included in our encyclopedia? If you have access to verifiable and reliable sources that prove the notability of this article, do guide me to the same and I'll help you get the article back on track. How does that sound? I've left a copy of this message on your talk page. Feel free to reply to me there or here. Kind regards. Wifione ....... Leave a message 16:25, 22 September 2010 (UTC)
Seriously?
The primary was a week ago now. You're acting like it didn't exist. Want a source? Here's one. And another. Yet still another. I wouldn't think this was controversial, but leaving this open like he's still in the race after the fact is ridiculous. I would've thought this was common knowledge. J. Myrle Fuller (talk) 22:18, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
- Hi J Myrle Fuller, sorry for the confusion. Actually, I'd again recommend you read our policy on how biographies should be written. I had requested you to not add any uncited information. Now that you have provided citations, please do go ahead and add that information, albeit with a necessary neutral point of view. Please do write back for any further assistance you might require. Re Easy
Thanks Secret account 18:37, 22 September 2010 (UTC)
