Revision as of 00:43, 18 March 2006
- The only sensible course of action is to ignore Crusading composer, as he is making little if any sense, but is flailing around, desperately trying to keep open an issue that is in fact closed, throwing childish accusations but not quite daring to do so straightforwardly. (I found particularly amusing his idea that because I teach philosophy at one Oxford College and Steadman read music at another, twenty-two years ago, I'm likely to know him.) If he continues in this way, then it's very likely that he'll find himself blocked from editing — and as this is the only article in which he has any interest, and that's purely negative, I don't think that anyone will miss him. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 22:16, 31 October 2005 (UTC)

Kudos
Thanks for providing such a number of sources for the Robert Steadman article; it was precisely what was needed. You see, anyone could come in and add something like "George is a balding tall man" and honestly, we'd have to remove it -- however, if someone adds that and adds a reference to a BBC article which describes George as a balding, tall man, then the statement can rightly stay. I know its been frustrating to have so much contention over the article and I really appreciate you sticking with it. Try to avoid the attacks on Crusading composer -- just back up your edits with sources and he hasn't a leg to stand on.
As a side note, I recently attended a choral work based on Evensong, and to my surprise, when I was talking with the muscial director and a few of the artists after the performance, they were discussing Mr. Steadman. Apparently they've enjoyed as number of his works and plan on using some of his compositions for a performance later this year. I'll definately be attending -- I've been very curious to hear some of his work after having worked on sorting out the article issues here. .:.Jareth.:. babelfish 21:44, 6 December 2005 (UTC)
Robert Steadman talk page
If the bickering between you, Crusading Composer and now the anon does not stop, you'll all be getting a time out. I know it is frustrating dealing with the comments that have been made, but arguing back serves no purpose. I've warned both of the others earlier today and if there are any futher personal attacks made, they will be blocked. I'm now asking you to stop fueling the argument -- lets try to move past this and continue the work on the article. Thanks and happy editing! .:.Jareth.:. babelfish 19:47, 7 December 2005 (UTC)
- All well and good but the whole purpose of Crusading Composer's involvement needs to be looked at. The username is a clue to the purpose I believe. I would like to see a proper article, written by interested and informed editors - not by someone who's only point is to carry out a grudge from another site. Do you really believe CC has any other purpose? Because I don't. He has admitted no interest in modern classical music, no knowledge of Steadman beyond the TES, no knowledge of any of Steadman's music, etc. Why, then, is he making alteratiuons and accusations? An continually referring to the TES!!!

- Its not up to us to judge his intent, so perhaps you could try focusing on the article instead. I've contributed to a great number of articles in topics where I am not an expert; there is no requirement that a person have an interest to be an editor. And re: your comment on my user page, those edits were precisely why I made the warning clear to everyone involved. Anything further will result in blocks. .:.Jareth.:. babelfish 20:49, 7 December 2005 (UTC)
OK, thanks. There is, I would say, a difference ro not being an expert to actually knowing nothing..... Vhjh 20:56, 7 December 2005 (UTC)
- Could you plese stop canvassing against me. I'm fed up of it. I'd be well within my rights to make a complaint against you. You have called me a liar - quite blatantly, but see no problem in making unfounded accusations against me. I'm quite an easygoing person and I do not hold a grudge. I feel quite attached to this article, but every now and again I disagree with you. Your response is always to make it personal - this is unacceptable.Crusading composer 00:31, 8 December 2005 (UTC)
