:::::Quit acting like you know anything about Chinese VAs. The truth of the matter is, Chinese VAs themselves are hardly notable even in their own native country, and pretty much all of them barely pass the GNG guidelines. You won't have any luck in translating those articles to English; they'll just end up getting deleted very quickly for simply not being notable enough or lacking enough sources to assert their notability. I live in Chinese terriority (Hong Kong); and I know how niche the Chinese voice acting industry is, compared to the United States or Japan. Anyway, let's not stray too far away from our original topic: Yes, I now understand the importance of conducting a simple Google search for the subject first before nominating any deletions. I have already started doing that with Takaya Hashi. --Sk8erPrince (talk) 09:15, 28 September 2016 (UTC) |

Revision as of 19:32, 28 September 2016
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. I don't have the attention span to deal with your silly jokes --Sk8erPrince (talk) 09:15, 28 September 2016 (UTC)
Next time, before nominating an article about a non-Anglophone subject, please search for sources in the subject's native language. Your AfD nominations of Aya Endō and and Wataru Hatano were silly to say the least. At least you're willing to withdraw AfDs when it becomes clear that a keep consensus is inevitable, so you're just getting a diet trout rather than the full trout. But please, be more careful next time. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 03:26, 28 September 2016 (UTC)
- Listen, mate. I AM very careful about choosing who to nominate for deletion. VERY notable seiyu like Kotono Mitsuishi and Megumi Ogata are out of the question. If a subject's article lacks enough strong sources, I will nominate the article for deletion. It is YOUR burden of proof to assert the subject's notability, not mine. If I see enough strong sources, or that I deem the subject as notable after careful editing and determining whether or not your assertions are valid, I'll decide if I'd want to withdraw my AFD. Also, telling me to search for sources in Japanese is pointless. I don't know Japanese, how the heck am I supposed to get anywhere with the searches? A seiyu could be notable in Japan, but not necessarily in the Western speaking world. So, it is, again, YOUR BURDEN OF PROOF to assert why you think the subject is notable. --Sk8erPrince (talk) 03:47, 28 September 2016 (UTC)
- You should be aware that Wikipedia's notability guidelines state that, even if a subject may only be "notable" at a certain geographic location, it may still have a Wikipedia article. Wanting an article to be deleted just because it may "not necessarily [be notable] in the Western speaking world" is an example of systemic bias, something Wikipedia strives to avoid. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 03:51, 28 September 2016 (UTC)
- There's a lot of Chinese voice actors that have their own Chinese pages, but I don't see English equivalents of them. Why do you think that is? It's not systematic basis that they're not created; it's because they don't have any English news coverage asserting their notability. If the seiyu I've nominated are whom I deem non-notable, and if you must object, prove that I'm wrong. This game isn't that hard to play, pal. --Sk8erPrince (talk) 03:56, 28 September 2016 (UTC)
