Good Evening Sims, hope all is well with you today. I was wondering if you could cast eyes on a few comments posted on my talk page by User:123o regarding templates. Not if I'm over-reacting, but I'm almost 99.9% certain that the user is purposely posting comments of an uncivil and provoking nature, despite my several attempts to converse clearly and politely as possible. Only reason I ask for your view is because if the user is doing what I think, then the next time I may have to take matters further and lodge an official complaint about his behaviour. :Eveing Wes. Having read was User:123o has put I can say that he has been quite irratic and perhaps even provocative in nature. I wouldn't say he's uncivil, he may be just trying to get his point across, but he does seem to be quite unrelenting, so perhaps you could say uncivil. I do agree with you that the original templates should take precendence, and his subsequent templates really don't make much sense when combined with the current templates and the country pages as well. Since he doesn't seem open for any compromise at all I think taking it further and reporting him may be the only solution I'm afraid to say. GA reassessment of San Marino in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008
I have conducted a reassessment of this article and found a large number of issues with the prose style, referencing and possible original research. There were so many that I delisted the article. These concerns can be found at Talk:San Marino in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008/GA2. Thanks. Jezhotwells (talk) 15:34, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
Straw poll on reliable sources for Eurovision articles
The second RfC on sourcing for Eurovision articles has now being running for several weeks, you can view it at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision#RfC on reliable sources for Eurovision articles. In order to help gauge the spread of opinion and draw conclusions from this discussion a straw poll has been started at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision#Straw poll. All project members are encouraged to read the RfC thoroughly and then cast their votes as they see fit. Rationales are still encouraged in the main discussion area above the poll, and participants can add appropriate new sources or options to the poll as they wish. Your GA nomination of Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008
The article Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within seven days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 for things needed to be addressed. Hello. I want you to stop edit this article, beacuase you are edit it bad. I want you to look for the best article, and stop with placing the "artist" column first. If you look at the other tables so it is first "song", then "authors" and then "artist", etc.. /Hollac16 (talk) 21:11, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- Hi again. What I mean is the tables that was there before I add the column "semi-finals". In these column it should be song-authours-artist. But in the coulums under "semi-finals" it should be as you added. Sorry for my bad English, but I hope you understand. /Hollac16 (talk) 20:30, 30 November 2009 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:Slovakia Eurosong 2009.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Slovakia Eurosong 2009.jpg. AfD nomination of Je ne sais quoi (song)
An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Je ne sais quoi (song). We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Je ne sais quoi (song). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.
Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:13, 9 February 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 21:16, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of OGAE Second Chance Contest 1996, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: OGAE Second Chance Contest 1994. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

Image copyright problem with File:Dora 2009.gif
Thanks for uploading File:Dora 2009.gif. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Na inat
Hello to you. I have had to revert you for your restoration on ESC 2011 of the Bulgarian translation. The word inat has several similarly related meanings and to impart precisely your point, one needs to examine the context. Na meaning "on" or "in" renders the following word a noun and the best translation is "out of spite". I realise English is your native language so you may have difficulty reading Cyrillic, but a good source is [1]. Thanks. Evlekis (Евлекис) 18:00, 2 March 2011 (UTC)

On 9 May 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the Blue, who will represent the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011, appeared naked in British gay magazine Attitude in May 2011? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. Please Explain
In this edit, you replaced my version of the Finals voting table with your own in a completely different arrangement. Other than the fact that consensus agreed on removing the endashes, which I can understand, please explain why you replaced my entire table - which was 100% accurate, I did it twice and it took me over four hours watching the video while copying down the numbers - with a version that was later reported in the talk pages to have errors in it. I am having a hard time accepting this edit. CycloneGU (talk) 23:10, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
- Hi. The reason I made the change in the Eurovision scoreboard was to order the table firstly by running order in the final, then by running order in each semi-final, which has been used in all Eurovision voting tables since semi-finals were introduced. I apologise for any errors I made in it, but I also spent considerable time creating the table in my sandbox. I'm sorry for any inconvenience caused. Sims2aholic8 (Michael) (talk) 23:16, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
- I understand that is what you copied from. However, I made my version to account for the voting order in the finals. For instance, Russia presented its votes first. For obvious reasons, this is easier to follow particularly for someone choosing to view the broadcast at a later date (in fact, the 2010 edition is still available, I noticed it watching the 2011 replay). Also, because it uses the running order for presentation of votes, it seems more accurate. For the semifinals, we don't get to see the presentation, so there is no set rule, and we can put them next to each other thus; however, with the finals, the broadcast has a voting order, and that is what I followed. It makes more logical sense to me regardless of whatever something else says. I believe we have a choice for how to arrange our own tables.
- Also, I copied your comment here. Per the notice on my talkpage, please keep discussion centered in one location. CycloneGU (talk) 23:25, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
- In my opinion I believe there should be consistency between each year's contest, and that's why i rearranged the table into the previous order. The running order for the voting is situated on the page, so I only did what I felt was correct. Sims2aholic8 (Michael) (talk) 23:29, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
- If consistency is the concern, I'd happily redo every single table we have for every single year for the final. Might take me a while, but I'd do it. I just believe presenting by vote presentation order in the final is a much better method of doing it, and if I have to volunteer to fix every year's table that way to achieve that, I'd do it. I do not know if your version of the table still has errors, but I've removed all the endashes from my table here, which was my own sandbox page for working on the table. All that would need to be done is colouring the X tiles (I think leaving the X is a good idea personally, but the colour helps) and it's done in a final version. CycloneGU (talk) 23:35, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
- I have no issue with how the table is ordered, I was just following what was done before. If you like we can ask for a more general consensus on what way to order it at the Eurovision WikiProject, which I do not believe you are a member of so you may not know about. Sims2aholic8 (Michael) (talk) 23:44, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

WikiProject Eurovision: Recent changes
Hello,
Please note that there have been some changes to operations surrounding Eurovision articles, these being that:
- Template names have now been standardised, for example Template:Countries in the Eurovision Song Contest and Template:Countries in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest have both been moved in order to be consistent. If you are planning to create a new template, please keep the standardised titles in mind.
{{WikiProject Eurovision}}
now accepts importance ratings as well as quality ratings, and the project now has a formal assessment department which gives details on how to assess articles, and provides a place for contributors to request re-assessment. Feel free to add the{{WikiProject Eurovision}}
template to the talk page of any new Eurovision articles you create.- The Eurovision Song Contest now has its own stub template at
{{Eurovision-stub}}
. Please only use this on Eurovision Song Contest stubs, with{{Music-stub}}
and{{Dance-stub}}
being the appropriate template for other Eruovision contests.

Hi Sims,
Just a quick note to see if Andorra should now be changed to grey on the file JESC participation map? Now that Andorra have quit the EBU, they are no longer eligible to enter JESC, and therefore shouldn't really be coloured in yellow, which depicts a nation who had never entered but is eligible to do so. Poland withdrawal saga at Eurovision Song Contest 2012
Hi Sims, I thought that Poland wasn't going to be included as fully withdrawn yet (see ongoing discussion at Talk:Eurovision_Song_Contest_2012#Polish_withdrawal). There are too many conflicting articles going around the web, that there is nothing solid enough to state a full withdrawal of Poland in 2012. Apparently, TVP announced a withdrawal on Facebook - yet that piece of information isn't to be found on Facebook whatsoever. Then Oikotimes report (citing themselves as the original source) that TVP have exclusively told them that Poland are withdrawing - strangely, ESCToday also report (again they cite themselves as original source) that THEY were told exclusively by TVP, about the withdrawal. However, there is nothing on TVP's official website about this "official announcement" of a withdrawal, nor have the EBU reported this news - which we all know they are pretty quick at confirming details. Therefore, is it wise to include details of a Polish withdrawal when there are no solid sources to confirm it? Wesley Mouse (talk) 19:39, 20 December 2011 (UTC)

Austrian language details on Eurovision Song Contest 2012 article
Hi Sims, there is currently a discussion going on at Talk:Eurovision_Song_Contest_2012#Austria_language_choice regarding the language details for Austria. Initially the article had the language down as 'German', then changed to 'Bavarian' by yourself, only to be changed again to 'Central Bavarian'. However, the Eurovision.tv website have the language choice detailed as being a dialect from the Mühlviertel region of Austria. As you have been altering the language for this, I was wondering if you'd be so kind as to participate in the talk page discussion, to assist in finding a consensus as to how we should list the language details. Thanks - Wesley☀Mouse 01:25, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
- I can see this language grey area becoming the most complex one in the history of ESC. There's a video interview from the EBU (posted on Youtube) which now classify the language as Mühlviertelian, this is a complete difference to having it listed on these articles as Bavarian. Is it possible to have a dialect that hasn't had an article created for it? Wesley☀Mouse 16:22, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
- While we are waiting for others input on Talk:Eurovision Song Contest 2012, would you mind casting eyes over another mini-debate over a new reliable source at Talk:Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2012. Thanks mate! I'll get the beers in while you have a gander at that little beauty on JESC. Wesley☀Mouse 20:30, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
Sims, not sure if you are online or not. I left a reply at Talk:Eurovision 2012 about this Austrian thing. The plot thickens even more, to the extent that I'm wondering now if we should get someone from project linguistics, languages, or both involved. There are too many contradicting factors in all the articles we are finding that it creates an everlasting loop-hole, and we're not getting anywhere to resolve things quicker. The link you provided at Talk:ESC2012 provided an interesting list of vocab/spelling differneces. However, further down the same article is goes on to classify Standard German as being an Austrian Dialect - this contradict the opening sentence which states (Standard) German is the official language. And not only that, the article isogloss comes out with something completely different that we haven't even touched on whatsoever. This wikiarticle stipulates that German language is in Germany, and this chapter advises when to seek professional help. So with all the confusion from wiki's own articles, I do believe getting the 'big guns' from Linguistics or Languages involved is the only way to find a resolution in all of this. A favour is required
Sims, Could you do me a favour please while I am busily making mass-alterations? Keep an eye on my talk page, and answer any questions that User123o posts on there. Thanks dude! Wesley☀Mouse 23:35, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
- WHOA! You've removed information from Eurovision Song Contest 1973 that was already in there before this whole debacle. Can't go removing stuff now just coz you feel like it. Its almost like you're now trolling my every movement that I'm doing - sooo not impressed. Wesley☀Mouse 23:50, 4 March 2012 (UTC)

Thanks - Wesley☀Mouse 18:17, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
- Eveing Wes. Sims2aholic8 (Michael) (talk) 18:26, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
Just wanted to say a BIG thank you

I award you this collection of miniature partying barnstars, to show my appreciation with helping in a looooong and tiresome ordeal we called "The Austrian Language Debacle". Together we managed to find a compromising solution, which works perfectly. And also for the help to implement the compromised outcome onto the List of languages in the Eurovision Song Contest articles. Wesley☀Mouse 02:07, 5 March 2012 (UTC) |
