:Thanks for the head's up, User:Saqib. It's highly likely I didn't block because I wasn't aware and so didn't look into it. The sockmaster of Raheeiejaz907 is User:Raheelejaz907 who hasn't edited in a while, so there is unlikely to be much in the way of current technical evidence. I am no longer a checkuser (I never keep those tools when I leave ArbCom) so I couldn't investigate anyway. If Atif ahmad8 is editing unproblematically, and there is no evidence of ongoing socking (that is one user editing the same material simultaneously from two or more accounts), then it's not something that would excite my interest anyway. It's the spirit/intention of the policy/guideline that I tend to follow, rather than strict wording. If Atif ahmad8 starts to edit problematically or in concert with Raheelejaz907, then please let me know, and I'll look into it. |||
Hi SilkTork. Remember Lobsterthermidor? You blocked him in Feb '21 and he resurfaced as an IP last May (see here) when you re-blocked him. Well, he's been back editing since at least last October from the IPv6 range 2A00:23C6:C423:4401:0:0:0:0/64. I came across the edits by chance while doing AV work. He's staying away from his former editing areas, but there's no doubt about it: compare this (before) and this (after his edits) for example. I haven't looked at the edits in any depth, but the work looks depressingly familiar: superficially good, but bloated and probably riddled with the usual OR and unreliable sources. Worth doing anything about, do you think? —Smalljim 22:15, 29 April 2024 (UTC) |

:Thank you Queen of Hearts! Yes, I was becoming uncomfortable by some of the recent demands of Crats to get involved in auditing live RfAs, and felt I am now too old and slow to be helpful there, so there was little point in remaining a Crat as there is little else to do. What is really needed is more active users stepping forward to become Crats rather than keeping old, slow folks like me. |
|||
:As a result of taking off the Crat toolkit I have felt less "responsible" than I have for some time, and happier to spend my time on Wikipedia simply reading (and editing where I feel it is appropriate and needed), and occasionally helping out on closing a tricky discussion (I've always enjoyed that), or doing some minor, non-urgent, non-controversial admin task. Revision as of 21:01, 22 May 2024
I will listen to you, especially when we disagree. Barack Obama
Our text should arise as a summary of the reliable sources, rather than editors first deciding what they want to say and then looking for sources. Agricolae
I am open to recall, using Whpq's wording from their RfA:
"if editors I trust and respect are telling me I should not be an admin, then I would voluntarily resign as an administrator."
