NPP
Hi Sam. If you feel up to it and know how to do it (ask sigma if youre not sure) we now need some more detailed data on NPP. We need a sortable table for all patrollers who are in the cats populated by the uboxen {{User wikipedia/NP Patrol}}, {{User wikipedia/NP Patrol2}}, {{User Newpages with Twinkle}} and all other users who have patroled at least one new page through the curation system over the last 12 months. The table headings would be
- user name | admin | edit count | first edit | last edit | no.of patrols | last patrol
The table might be quite large because I anticipate a lot of users who have done very few patrols, and may take time for a computer to compile. For a rough but similar and smaller data set, see data at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/patrollers PLain list with count 12 months up to Aug 2015, that sigma complied for us. Let me know if you are OK to do all this - I do realise that it's a tad more complicated than it sounds. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 05:59, 31 August 2015 (UTC)

My Article was not been accepted by Samtar, i would like to know the reason for the same.
Bashabai (talk) 10:17, 23 September 2015 (UTC)
- As it says on the rejection notice, "No references". I would reject it for the same reason myself.
- Please read WP:V and WP:RS. We require independent sources to verify the content in an article.
- There is also the question of WP:Notability. Is this article topic important enough to belong in an encyclopedia? This is demonstrated by these same independent sources. Although this topic is very likely to be notable, it still needs to show that it is, by citing the sources. Andy Dingley (talk) 11:18, 23 September 2015 (UTC)
Rejection of Panama Real Estate Article
Dear Samtar,
You recently rejected my article about Panama Real Estate. While you did not give any reasons, you did write: “This submission is not suitable for Wikipedia. Please read What Wikipedia is not for more information.”
I looked at the What Wikipedia is not page, but it lists so many reasons, I was not able to understand how my article fit into any of these reasons. This rejection is discouraging because I have been working with two other editors here getting the article ready for publication.
Grayfell has been very helpful with getting me to make the subject Wikipedia relevant and going through every one of the 125 reference citations to weed out those he thought were not reliable sources. He deleted over 1/3 of the sources. But, he approved my 8 articles because they are relevant to the subject and neutral even though potentially a conflict of interest. The most widely used sources that remain in my article are:
The Visitor, which is a weekly tourist newspaper in Panama printing a 32 page edition for nearly 20 years, as well as, an online edition. They have an editorial staff, which provides News of Panama and Events for tourists and foreigners residing in Panama. You can see the online edition at this link: https://www.thevisitorpanama.com/
Another reliable source is News Panama, which is an online newspaper with an editorial staff providing news stories about Panama. Their website is: http://www.newsroompanama.com/
Another large source has been Central America Data, which translates all the major newspapers in Central America who have news stories about Panama into English. You can see their website here: http://en.centralamericadata.com/en/static/home
I think the other sources speak for themselves for reliability as most of them are well-known magazines and newspapers.
Grayfell has no problem with the remaining citations regarding reliability and neutrality including my articles. He has read my entire article several times with no problems remaining.
Grayfell moved my article from my Sandbox to the Draft section.
Another editor, Kethrus, helped me with the Lead which he thinks is now suitable. You can read all of the history of texts between the three of us to see how much time they put into helping me to get this article published.
One thing you will notice is that I never complained, nor objected to the deletions and changes they made to my article. I followed all of their suggestions.
From the very beginning when I joined Wikipedia I have been 100% transparent as evidenced in my User introduction page where I chose to use my real name and location as my user name and I disclosed that several of my articles are cited as reliable sources (8 out of the 125 I had cited as references). Yes, there is always a potential conflict of interest here, but none of the editors who read my user page or my article objected in any way.
Notability of article may be another reason you rejected my article? Panama has been experiencing what the international media describes as a real estate “boom” since 2006. I found several Wikipedia articles about real estate “bubble over the years in different countries. Every one of them began with a “boom” before it became a “bubble” which burst bringing the entire economy down. Possibly a writer will add a new section to my article called “Boom turns into a bubble”? That may happen. At least this article provides the history of the boom, which led to the bubble.
I hope you will reconsider the rejection of this article as at least two other editors have no problem with it.
If not, please provide me with clear reasons for the rejection.
Thank you for your time.

- Done self-revert and accept.
- hi @Steven Rich in Panama: thanks for your civil and we'll reasoned argument. Given the time and support multiple editors have given, I'm happy to accept I was wrong. I personally believe the article doesn't belong on Wikipedia, though I guess I'm not a 'one man consensus' and shouldn't allow my personal ideologies to govern my reviewing. I'm happy to discuss with yourself and DGG why I personally believe this article type is not what Wikipedia should contain.
- As a side note, your (and the editors which helped) writing is very good, and this was in no way a personal dig against yourself! I'd like to see you create more articles, and look forward to reviewing and most likely accepting them! samtar (msg) 09:48, 24 September 2015 (UTC)
The best thing to do when you suspect your view might not have consensus, is to accept and send to afd. AfC is not well suited to a community decision; AfD is the place for the necessary discussion. If you think it has a decent chance of passing, but you want to argue otherwise, AfD is a good place to make the argument. If you'd rather discuss Real estate in Panama here, please do explain your view. I'd be interested. DGG ( talk ) 01:15, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
Kumar
Why did you put a a tag on Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Bharat Jyoti Award to Dr. S. Vijay Kumar, which leaves the message: "It is primarily designed to threaten, disparage or attack its subject. or It is a biography of a living person that is unreferenced and entirely negative in tone or It is a page that is purely vandalistic in nature." None of these would seem to apply, though I can think of other reasons for deletion? DGG ( talk ) 18:00, 23 September 2015 (UTC)
- Hi @DGG:, apologies, I'm pretty sure the option was worded as vandalism, which was the nearest option to 'this shouldn't be here'. Looking back, it seems YAAHS also included in that category attack pages, meaning it automatically added that tag. As every edit made using a tool is my own responsibility, I do apologise for not checking the article after the tool had taken me to the next random AfC. samtar (msg) 09:35, 24 September 2015 (UTC)

Never worry about AfC things unless you repeat errors
We have all made mistakes, and we are the better for making them. The trick is to learn from them, and to try not to make the same one twice.
Remember, we review many drafts. Some are bound to be mistaken reviews, so do not be hard on yourself over this one tiny one.
I've reviewed loads, and made errors in some. Some have been speedy deleted, some AfDd. All we can ever do is our best on the day. Fiddle Faddle 12:07, 29 September 2015 (UTC)

Single-board computers talk help
Hey Samtar. You approved a major change via Talk:PC-on-a-stick to PC-on-a-stick. I have posted a request to Talk:Comparison_of_single-board_computers#PC_on_a_Stick_is_registered_trademark_of_Imation area asking for help migrating the existing content on PC-on-a-stick to somewhere but there are no replies from editors in that area...any thoughts on how I should approach this? I am hesitant to just replace all the current PC-on-a-stick content, even with approval, without doing the diligence to find the right home for the current content. Any suggestions appreciated. I suspect puppetry as well, but I am counting the closing admin to take that likelihood into account.
If you notice offsite canvassing, or a likely puppetmaster, I would be interested in hearing about it. I have not spotted any obvious evidence, and lack the energy at this moment to start digging. As much as I enjoy reporting sockpuppets, I don't think Goy's edit will carry much weight in the AfD.
If I were arguing to delete the article, I might emphasize possible WP:BLP concerns, and perhaps another article Cuckservative more reasonably should merged into—perhaps RINO, or a new article on US conservative purity purges. / edg ☺ ☭ 20:24, 8 October 2015 (UTC)
Hey guys, Goy here. My apologies if I stole any credence away from the debate, that was not my intention. I had an account here I last used in 2009, if that helps. I've been mostly interested in the topics related to the Cuckservative page, so I was negligent and didn't realize how shady my input must have looked. It wasn't my intention to discredit anyone with whom I agreed. I'll be happy to continue this discussion since I want to emphasize that there wasn't any sockpuppeting going on from my end. Patrick Hennessy(Painter)
Hi Samtar Thank you for your offer of assistance in this matter. The issue in question is regarding a tag placed on the Patrick Hennessy(Painter) article last August by Ww2censor stating that the lead section "may not adequately summarize key points of it's contents" When I seen this tag I immediately worked on enlarging the lead section taking into account the structure/content and the overall size of the article.Yet Ww2censor refused repeatedly to remove the tag and more importantly refused to enter into any form of discussion(I do'nt have to engage with you etc)on the matter.Put simply if no one will tell me what I've done wrong, how can I fix it. I have spent a year researching and working on this project for the good of everyone and I believe the lead section looks, reads and is in balance with the rest of the article.snowpatrol 20:53, 12 October 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Seascaper (talk • contribs)

- Apologies - my revert was solely to try to stop the discussion spinning out of control. People will start getting sanctioned in a minute, and I honestly don't want you getting blocked. I personally think closing that thread and starting a fresh AN/I about how that thread was handled would allow a more equal discussion. That being said, I'm not going to revert any more edits on that page today. I agree Blofeld should be sanctioned, along with some other editors there samtar (msg) 21:50, 12 October 2015 (UTC)
