Question
@RolandR What is your personal view of the Bosnian Genocide and Cambodian Genocide? Do you believe it is appropriate for self-described academics to question the validity of the crimes against humanity that occurred during these genocides? Does it matter to the victims of genocide whether their killers are left-wing, right-wing, or neither? Just curious. Royz-vi Tsibele (talk) 15:39, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
- My personal view is of no relevance. If the mention of "self-described academics" is intended to refer to Noam Chomsky, then you reveal your own contempt for one of the world's leading intellectuals, and a person recognised universally as an important academic. And, as possibly the only Wikipedia editor to have discussed this personally with him, I can certify (though my own word is obviously not a reliable source for Wikipedia purposes) that Chomsky certainly does not deny the facts or the horrors of the Pol Pot regime, but rather questions the motives and legitimacy of Western states and media in stressing these crimes while ignoring, for example, the similar atrocities perpetrated by the pro-Western Indonesian regime. RolandR (talk) 18:49, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
- @RolandR I see, I wasn't aware of that. From the sources I had gone over it seemed that Chomsky was denying the severity of the Cambodian Genocide and not just making claims about hypocrisy. Thank you for your clarification, and apologies for my previous dogmatism. Hope you have a nice day. Royz-vi Tsibele (talk) 20:25, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
Rescuing Revolutionary Communist Party (UK, 1944)
Unfortunately, much of Revolutionary Communist Party (UK, 1944) has been deleted for being unsourced[1]. Would you be able to help find sources for the material and restore it with citations (and/or ask other editors familiar with the topic to do so)? Wellington Bay (talk) 13:58, 8 March 2024 (UTC)
Possibly manipulated image of Michael Rosen?
Michael Rosen's left hand on Michael Rosen 06082023.jpg seems to be the same size as his head. I really have no designs on this image or its use on Mr. Rosen's Wikipedia page, but out of interest, I wanted to ask whether the image was digitally manipulated, if the oversized hand is some trick of the camera shutter, or if Mr. Rosen does, in fact, have exceptionally large hands? Thanks for your great work on articles concerning Palestine, Theodore Christopher (talk) 18:21, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
- Not digitally altered, the picture is exactly as I took it last summer. The apparently large hand is probably foreshortening, as a result of the angle from which I took the picture. RolandR (talk) 20:38, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
